My double can is an auto..

On frankenstein. No. I love the manual.

I will say the auto is great for dd though. Very nice for traffic and just getting around town. I don't like it much offroad though. The 2nd gen auto is a bit better though but not a lot better.

I feel like when going uphill on something steep or with big rocks it's easy to stall. Like in a auto you can just stop and change direction or whatever. Then with a manual it's like wanting to roll back or it's hard to get the clutch right without stalling.

I'll probably do a swing out to get my spare out of the bed and maybe do a bed rack...sucks that you can't do it on top of the fiberglass bedsides

    See my edit^^

For crawling, you need a better clutch and gears help a lot. You're on 4.88s right? With me on 5.29s I can hold the truck with the brake and slowly let my clutch out and let it slip to hold the truck in place and let go of the brake completely. Then just easy the clutch out to go forward. Or add some gas if it's a big rock.

Low gearing is key for crawling. Super glad I went with 5.29s for that reason. Plus the truck is just peppy as hell with them.

And with autos you have to keep an eye on tranny temps too.

I'm on 4.88 and a nearly brand new exedy clutch. I can easily do that on like a off ramp but it's much harder on a super steep rock. Then when it stalls the brakes suck lol

Grab the e brake if you stall too. that'll help.

And well..thats why i try and talk people out of 4.88s and 35s. Unless they are and auto, they can get away with it more. But 5.29s and 35s w/auto would be way better on the tranny.

Just gotta learn how to ride your clutch.

Also why i went with a ceramic one so i could ride it and get away with riding it a bit harder then most.

other option is to get a crawlbox. In your case id probably go with just a 2.28 geared one not a 4.7 since your boosted and like to romp hard. the 4.7 crawl box gears will spin super fast and isn't recommended. But i haven't seen or heard of any issues with the 4.7...so do either.

OF course that's a 2-3 thousand dollar upgrade and custom work to fit it.

Don't have a e brake lol. Yeah my clutch is a organic. Going 70 in already at 3k so 5.29 would be to much!

The one on my bumper is pretty massive. But also 100 bucks alone..

Eric at relentless sells a decent one.

I might look at doing a double sheer though for romping purposes.

Comp4x4 has a bunch but i just read somewhere that they where hard to get ahold of so not sure if id order from them or not right now..

also use a 2000lb rated latched.

Hey, what line lock are you running? I'm about to get one and needed some advice or input. Was thinking of the summit racing brand and electronic but I want it to be reliable.

I'm thinking the rear would be best. The calipers in back has way less fluid volume in them so I feel that it may secure them more solidly. What's your take on the front vs. rear? Is yours electronic? Is it just that you flip the switch and it stays locked, but doesn't that hold current from the batt. on it while it's engaged?

I have drum breaks so they don't work that great. But I only use the line lock when I wanna keep the truck running on a incline . So the power draw doesn't bother me. I wish I had a normal e brake
