I am driving a 2WD V6 Tacoma TRW. It has towing capacity up to 6000 lbs. I am ordering a 17 foot 2500-lb Casita trailer very soon. Do I need to get an anti-sway control from the Casita factory? Some say it depends on the TV and some say instead get a weight distribution hitch. I will be driving 1800 miles through New Mexico and Colorado returning home to California after I pick up the trailer. So should I to get an anti-sway control from the factory? Thank you!

A weight distribution hitch with sway control is good to have, esp. if you will be doing lots of highway driving through high-wind areas. If Casita can correctly install the hitch with sway control on your truck at a reasonable price, then by all means, have them do it. You can purchase and install the hitch yourself. Go here for good info:

I purchased my weight distribution hitch (with sway control) from etrailer, and I do highly recommend them. Great prices and great support.

Good luck, and enjoy your new Casita!

Thanks Spindifferent for your response. I was informed by a few people from Casita Forum that I don't need a weight distribution hitch as long as I have the anti-sway control, which Casita is going to install.
It is a 18-foot small molded fiberglass trailer. I have to drive it for a while and see if I need a weight distribution hitch. Thanks again!
