    Will these work on a gen 3? Yes my tail gate has a lock, but it’s pretty easy to break through

    Yes. The only trick is the OEM latch is secured by T40 Torq screws which can be painful to remove. One trick is to get a fine tip center punch to tap the center of the Torq screw a few times to help loosen it first. I forget that, didn't have my T40 full insert and stripped the head. Time to drill it out.

    That is a great method, but I recommend taking your tailgate off and you can get much better leverage on that T40, plus you'll see how easy it is to steal your gate. Make sure to unplug your camera wires. (I've ripped mine out, oops)

    Just so its clear, take your tailgate off to remove the factory torx screw or you will probably strip it out and then you'll have to take the tailgate off to drill out the stripped screw.

    I've had mine for a while now, and am still totally pleased with it. I painted black to match and don't really notice it unless I'm specifically looking for it. But definitely worth the peace of mind

    I thought some were being installed incorrectly...until I read this...

    So, mine will go under. I will definitely take pics too when I do install. I can't find a short enough T40 & ratchet to fit without removing the tailgate. Guess I'll be removing the tailgate if I wanna do this right.
