Okay, not the first time this has happened. Actually the fourth. Just randomly I’ll go to start my 2021 tacoma sr, and the key won’t rotate in the ignition. The anti theft flashes, but nothing else happens. I’ve disconnected the pos side of the battery to reset the computer. Usually wait 15-30 mins. This usually works, but not today. What in the hell is wrong with this truck?

This is the 2nd gen forum up to model year 2015. You will want to post in the 3rd gen forum.

If the key won't physically rotate you have either a worn key, incorrectly cut key, or a lock cylinder issue, has nothing to do with the immobilizer.

If the steering is locked it can cause the lock cylinder to not rotate, next time it does it wiggle the steering wheel while trying to turn the key.

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
^^seconded, if there's tension on the steering lock it'll be hard/impossible to turn the key. Wiggle the steering wheel so it's off the stop and you'll be able to turn it. Unless the ignition cylinder is physically damaged.
