quick follow up review: I ordered 2 of these, one for my dad and boy did it pay off.

My parents were in bed, around 11pm, my mother heard a noise outside and looked out the window and saw someone trying to steal the tailgate off the truck, she woke up my dad but by the time he was up, went down stairs and got out the door the guy had drove off. This simple device held off the guy long enough to ensure he didn't make off with the tailgate. I found out later that the auto-loc for his tailgate had failed and left him open for theft, good thing we had a redundant security measure.

tailgate was completely fine, no damage to the tailgate or anti-tweaker device.

Yes, due to popular demand I will continue to produce these Anti Theft Devices. I just want to say thank you to all that have supported my ventures. I would not be able to make the things I make without you, so to you i say thank you.

I'm not familiar with how that lock works, but it seems to secure the same hinge. its better than nothing, the important part is just to protect your tailgate.

Got this in black powdercoat to replace the cheap hose clamp I had on there for about 8 years, installed without issue, perfect fit!! Love the beefy quality, quality stainless screw included. Thanks for making this quality product, Christian!

These bolts do not want to come out, man. Lol

I’ve tried pretty hard to get them out and they just do not budge. I legit think mine may be welded.

It makes it much easier if you take the tailgate off, you get much better leverage.
The OEM T40 torx screw has teeth on the face and they can really bite in sometimes.

Free bumpski from another satisfied customer. Pipe clamps are great but if the thief isn't a moron they don't last long (mine came off in less than 10 seconds).

@christian06 's device is beefy as heck and I have confidence it won't fail unless the thief by some miracle has a T40 security socket in their kit. Thanks for making these for the TacomaWorld community!

From someone who saw it done--Toyota runs a stick of threadocker down the line. That's why that screw isn't breaking from the bolt. Bored my out and replaced with fresh screws when I mounted my 3rd Gen anti tweaker device. (Previously owned a 2010 TRD O/R and had one on it too.)
