Yeah not many where I'm at a few although head 5 miles north there's a good number I've been concentrating on whitetails that's where my heart is

This seems like a good way to get back into the woods and calm the itch to hunt.

I've never shed hunted with a purpose actually. Only stumbled upon them once in a while. Nothing but whitetail here anyway, so if the rack isn't huge or covered by leaves, you won't see it.
Might get out Saturday for a while where I hunt and see if Polly can sniff some out. Just worry about her and snakes, can't say I know that she's been around one.
I know of at least 2 bucks I saw last year, cuz I missed them both during gun season . One was wall hang material (buck fever), the other would've been good to eat (tree branch got me).

I'm doing pretty good this year, I've put a lot of miles on this year, I've basically went through a pair of boots in a week, like the treads falling off in chunks (under armor).

Oh well, hopefully more to come.

Man! You folks west of the big crick (Mississippi), get all the bigger deer and their antlers! They may be small racks to y'all, but those are massive to this Kentucky boy!

I mean having a general idea where the deer and elk were throughout the winter is helpful but odds are if you put enough miles down you'll find an older one or something.

Danners for anything but wet and snow, mucks for that. Woody max mucks are comfortable as can be!

The only boot that I've found can stand the abuse I put them through are Kenetreks, I bought a pair at the first of the winter for the lion season and they're still going strong. I'd wear them year round if they weren't so hot during the rest of the seasons.

I had a set of danners and they lasted through about a year but the last 2 or so months there was a lot of super glue involved trying to get them to stay together.

I bought a set of under armor boots 2 weeks ago for the shed season opener in Utah and had them blown but the next weekend.
Went with another pair of danners since I can't afford another pair of kennys.

Kenetreks are nice, great mountain boot. Pricey as can be, never lasted any longer than my Danners. Both great boots regardless! I'd go which ever I could afford at the moment ( my kids keep me broke lol).

naw its open all season/year, snow usually hampers up stuff so maybe thats why they dont have a shed hunting season here. Ive found sheds well into hunting season from the previous year so its a matter of stumbling on them around here.
