Texas built Oct 2016 DCLB, 2nd owner, with 121,000 kilometers. Lots of mods, averaging 17.5 mpg, no major issues at all, original brakes @ 50%, mostly serviced at home using a wonderful service document someone put together on this forum...TY

I will buy another one when the time comes and would recommend to anyone considering a light truck purchase!

2016 SR5 with 65k miles. Flashed the ecu for the transmission issue and the dealer repaired paint chips under and around the hood. No other problems to report - keeping it until it dies.

Photo with our Old English Bulldog was the first day of purchase

Photo with the camper was last month

I also have the whistling door seal issue - starts at around 85 MPH and my kid says it's the "SLOW DOWN" warning...

Has anyone figured out how to make it stop - the dealer claimed to replace the driver door seal a few years ago, but the noise is still there.

2016 TRDOR, MT, AC, LB. 80k km. No issues; lots of bush roads, but everything is still tight. This is a good work vehicle.
Third Toyota pickup; 2nd gen rusted out early; 1990 model was the best. Will buy another in a year or two.

1/4" aquarium tubing, cut to about 12" to 14" inches long. Make a small, 1" incision at the leading edge bottom of the weatherstripping. Lubricate the tubing with some dish soap and slide it into the weatherstripping, making a point once it's inserted to slide it down into where you cut. As the soap dries it sort of glues itself into place, and prevents the weatherstipping from deforming when you're trucking down the road at 85.

Nov 2015 build, bought used with 5K miles early 2016. 83K now. Been cross-country and back and many out-of-state road trips, quite a bit of desert washboard and some mild 4-wheeling. Plus daily driver. Crank sensor and odometer replaced by recall and TSB; one or two ECU updates but still bad, but I can live with it. Cross wind kazoo: tried a few “irrigation line” hacks but still happens; again I live with it. Tailgate bushing just failed and I ordered the Shapeways part but haven’t installed it yet.

Sits outside 365 days a year, washed when it rains (which ain’t much here), paint and interior look good. No leaks or real rattles. A/C is getting weak but is OK for our climate. OEM Goodyear kevlars had one rock puncture, plugged and then replaced with KO2’s at 40K. Those BFG’s will easily go another 15K. Front pads need replacement soon. MPG is currently sitting at 20.2 uncorrected, last reset maybe 6-12 months ago but pretty typical if I can get out of town for a while. Good truck would be perfect with a better “tune”.

Truck runs as good as the day I got it, with the only issue being I can't keep the air conditioning working. It's been in 3 times to the dealer for that and after 1 year it dies again, so now I just live without AC which is not that hard to do in reality. Truck has always been dealer serviced.
Other then AC, no mechanical gremlins, I've replaced the original tires, and have a few mods installed to help it with towing nicer which this truck does quite a variety of, so I installed Sumo springs and 5100's in the back. I tow a 6x10 enclosed trailer for 2 sport bikes going to track days, a 17' bowrider, and two SeaDoo's.
I absolutely love this truck, and plan to keep it another 6 years!

got my first issue this month, and it was a good one
transmission, torque converter went at a 145000 kms , thankfully I bought an extended warranty and it's covering it all
The Dealer told me Toyota Canada tested the fluid in my tranny and there was trace contaminant elements in the fluid which caused it to die
other than that I still love my Tacoma

Just following up with what happened
my extended warranty covered all the work that got done. Total of $8100 + tax and I had to wait 7 weeks to get my truck back. Not overly happy with what Toyota did , demanding fluid tests before they would release the parts , but I still love my Tacoma
