I'm doing some searching for just the right center mount bumper that I can stick my Warn 9000i winch in. This one is on my radar and I like that it requires zero bumper cutting to install. Just removing the black valance panel. My biggest concern is the angle of the fairlead attachment. It's at such a steep angle and I'm curious if anyone has one, how does it effect your winching capabilities. It appears that line or cable would spool in/out at an extreme angle while always contacting the hawse or roller but photos are all I have seen.

The new 4WP center mount is pretty sweet, too. I might pop for that but they're pretty proud of it for just under $800!

Yes, I installed this bumper myself. I love it! I kept the light bar off because I have a limited and it got in the way of the front camera. I was going to put a caliraised hidden light bar there anyway but the disengage switch on the winch is a tad too high for that. Otherwise, the bumper is awesome. No cutting needed at all. The body lines don’t line up perfectly and it takes a bit of time to get it in the perfect position where it isn’t rubbing any of the plastic bumper of the truck. Holds my 12,000 winch just fine! The angle also had me worried…I’ve ready a few things about the bumper getting bent because the angle was too steep. I’ll most likely cut the “DV8” logo out of the front and out the fairlead there. It will fit perfectly!!! Hope this helps…

Looks good but yeah, that thing is uber angled. Looks like they were more concerned with their logo positioning than winch safety!

4WP did the opposite. If I have to cut it to make it right, I won't consider buying it. Better off spending more $$ on the 4WP. Maybe it's because I just wrote the check for my month old TRD OR, I'm a little tweaked on cutting the bumper but reality is...if I install it, it likely will never be removed in my lifetime.

Are the square holes in the bumper of sufficient size to reach in to engage/disengage free-spool. I'm seeing some of these manufactured with no access points other than maybe poppin' the hood? Also, I see you don't have the bull bar/light mount on yours. Is that due to the forward camera? I have TSS but no forward camera on mine.

No they are not. You have to reach through the hood to disengage. Same with the body armor bumper. Not sure about the 4WP branded one. And I thought the light bar was tacky and limited view on my front cam. So I left it off. It is super flimsy…not a bull bar at all. Held on by 4 bolts. But if you buy this bumper, put the bar on first!! lol

You're info is golden! Especially the part about the flimsy bull bar. That was a component I thought I liked about it in photos. If it's bolt on, I can see what you mean! I think for now, I just narrowed it down to the 4WP unit unless I come across something better at or below its price point. I like the fact I can add the bumper wings later for a couple-a-few hundred and some cutting.

Thinking about installing this on my 2017 TRD OR. I don't want to buy the flip up license plate holder that installs over the fairlead and I see a bunch of pics online where plates are mounted over the DV8 logo. Any idea how this is done?

I just installed the 4wp bumper with a Warn VR Evo 10-S winch. Not a terrible install, it was easier than most. I had to do a bit more cutting than the instructions said on the metal front trim brace to keep from having to relocate the winch control box, and grind out the bottom of the fairlead hole to prevent cable rub on the steel bumper’s edge. I am overall very pleased with the final result.

i suspect self-tapping screws are involved.

I have this mount and definitely would NOT recommend it. It moves with tugging on the d rings. It moves or bends when using the winch. I’m taking it off to look at it this weekend. If it’s bent, it’s staying off. If it is moving, I’ll weld and re powder coat it. That sucked also.

The dv8 mount? I'll have to keep this in mind when shopping for my bumper.
