Also to echo some of the other concerns…

toyota is not new to first model year issues. The turd gen took about 3 model years to get the kinks worked out. And a 22 tundra is far more complex than a taco…

i would probably not get one until 2024-5… looong time to wait unfortunately.

I will keep my beloved Tacoma Pro if the base price is over $60k. I would wait for the all new 4th generation 2024 Tacoma that’s due in the fall of 2023.

I was excited as hell for one, looking to move to a fullsize, I love the interior, the rest of it sucks imho, like they mailed it in and stole elements from all the other brands and threw it into Toyota form and its not appealing, but I also don't want 15 mpg like the current outgoing gen. Actually started shopping AT4's and Sport F150 Lariats :( and I've been a longgggg time Toyota family member.

No, the taco is now a wheeling rig and the daily is a Rav 4 Prime.

I don’t think it’ll be at 15, if I had to guess it’ll be closer to 20 (average).
Style is subjective obviously. I am not sure I’d trust Ford from a reliability perspective, they have had way too many issues in recent years

Reference 2016 Tacoma. One of the worst launches in terms of bugs the last 2 decades and it had an engine used in plenty of cars. But then the 5thgen 4Runner launch basically no issues. Toyota typically better but would still advise waiting a year. Hell it’s not my money though. They look sweet.

The current gen Tundra definitely is closer to 15 mpg my dude, lol. And I'll probably hang on to my no longer available Cement Taco, just was hoping to move to a fullsize.

Re-read my post you first quoted, "current outgoing gen" Tundra, obviously the new powertrain isnt gonna get 15 mpg.

I am aware, I was responding to another post saying that the new one will get around 20, which is significantly better than the 15 of the current truck.

No idea lol, I suppose I was reinforcing that the new gen will get much better mileage but that’s a moot point since you know that.

    Check build thread!
If they'd get off their fuckin ass and make a single cab, yes. But, no, so I'm sticking with the taco.

There is a lot of new going on with the new Tundra. I think it's going to cost alot of money to get in the new Tundra. Other than looking like a GM truck, I don't think it looks that bad.

I like Toyota but I think I'd get an F150 before getting a new Tundra.

I’m not sold on the reliability of a turbo engine vs. a N/A engine. They just won’t go the same distance without either replacing major components or major $ spent on upkeep.
The next Gen Tacoma will have a 4 cylinder turbo, no doubt. I would bet a dime to a dollar that the next Tacoma does not offer a N/A engine.

    Not on the first year!!!

That being said, I dont need a full size yet. So I dont have a reason to trade in my Taco. Hell I just finally put a lift. I'm happy with it.
