    Not necessarily an upgrade, these TT v6 will not see the reliability of a normally aspirated engines. There are a ton of Tundra's v8 with half million miles and more...can't see the new forced induction do the same...with a lot of repairs it might...

    2022 Tundras will have MSRP's of $50-65K plus $10-$15K dealer mark ups = unaffordable.

    I personally have no need for a larger truck or to separate myself from ~$55-$65k. I'm sure I'd love it if I drove one, but I'm done chasing the next best thing in depreciating liabilities.

    I bought the first year of the current tundra, 2007 and didnt have any issues with jt. Traded it at 30,000 miles for another tacoma though.

    I sat in a 2021 Tundra for giggles and grins in the process of buying my Tacoma...way too much truck!

    That plus the wife thinks it's ridiculous to buy it. I wanted a truck under $40K so the price definitely made the decision easier.

    I'll stay with my Taco and continue to do add-ons.

    I think the Pro lines up more with the Tremor than it does the Raptor. Tremor pricing should give you a pretty good idea where the Pro will fall IMO.

    Don’t disagree. However it’s a fact that turbo motors are more maintenance heavy and have far more parts than N/A. They will certainly be reliable to 100k and perhaps to 200k but we won’t see 500k or 1M out of them

    Disagree, but either way a tremor with cameras + leather + safety is 67,195, and it still doesn’t have good shocks + hybrid

    What extra maintenance does a modern turbo motor require? A turbo 6 has less moving parts than an N/A V8.

    Both Car and Drive and Motor Trend line it up against the Tremor/Rebel/ZR2 not the Raptor or TRX. Tremor has upgrades shocks and the Pro shocks aren't in the same league as the Raptors.

    More oil changes etc, as the turbos are hard on the oil.
    There are inter coolers, additional sensors etc etc. and they tend to weigh more than their counterparts. I.e a TT v6 will weigh more than a V8 of a similar construction.

    i don’t fully disagree with the second comment though, trd and raptor have even more body/frame/suspension work over a trd pro, but I will maintain that a tremor has less.

    Gotta break the cycle. $530/mo car payment put into a 12% mutual fund for 20 years turns into $500k. In 20 years will you look back and think the procession of car loans was worth $500k? That's what they really cost.

    Been following the Tundra release for curiosity's sake. Nice evolution but its not a world-beater by any stretch of the imagination. Toyota has been playing catch-up for too long in the full-size truck game. They better be moving on a Tundra PHEV or they will get killed.

    I agree about Toyota playing catch up in the full size truck market. It’s a tough market to get into. The big 3 have dominated the market for so long. Plus, while the Tundra is a great truck, it doesn’t seem like it’s seen as a “serious” competitor the the half tons from Ford, GM, and Ram. Sure, buyers might shop the Tundra against the others, but if they’re buying for typical “truck stuff” they’ll most likely go for a domestic half ton. If it’s for “residential use” and the occasional trip for mulch, a sheet or two of plywood once or twice a year, they may go for the Tundra.
    It’ll definitely be interesting to see how it stacks up against the competition. Tough competition makes everyone up their games.

    I am in the market for another full size truck in addition to my Tacoma. I have been waiting and watching the Tundra release as I don't like the current Tundra but I was hoping to avoid having to buy a domestic and all the issues that come with them. ( I have owned several)

    I was hoping that the payload was going to a little better and allow me to set up a specific camper option. The payload didn't quite get there, but that is not the deal breaker in my decision to not buy a new Tundra.

    It may be minor I know, but one thing that is abysmal in the new Tundra is storage (back seat and otherwise) the double cab and crewmax cab is smaller, and the Tacoma actually has a more usable storage space (fold flat) than the tundra. Lack of tow hooks or anywhere to mount them....what engineer thinks that is a good idea on a truck....even the TRD PRO off road etc do not have tow hooks or locations to mount them....apparently they are so good that they never get stuck.

    I won't get into the polarizing looks as that is subjective. I think the new powertrains will put them about on par with domestics now as far as issues during normal ownership. 100-200k 7-10 yrs.

    I was hoping this truck would allow me to avoid buying one of the domestics. It does not. So I will go ahead and start shopping and looking into the features of the Fords and Rams. (for full size towing and hauling use).

    I am keeping the Tacoma.
