The problem i see with throwing a supercharger on the engine is that the engine is not made to handle the extra power and would effectively be wearing it out much quicker. Please show me some logic on why this would work and prove me wrong or how my opinion is true

I have an 06 with 32,000 miles and will be due for some stuff. I will get a decent muffler but other than that im pretty happy not having to out HP other trucks. I had a Dodge diesel and every month I was looking for some part to help me roast the tires. i went with a 4 banger so I would'nt really have to option to get the HP bug.

well sure.... they dont just go throwing turbos on stock engines in cars why would you put a supercharger on a stock engine... of course the engine would have to be fully rebuilt with aftermarket parts before you go cramming more pressure into it.... although on the otherhand... its just a supercharger were looking at what like 7or8 psi.... and if you are doing mods of anysort and going and driving the crap out of it then you are effectivly wearing it out prematurely anyhow. i myself am just thinking about forced induction by ram air of somesort..... and some shorter tires.

or i have another idea.... drop a sr20 turbo motor out of a nissan silvia into it.... or the rb26dett twin turbo motor out of the skyline.... now that would be bad anus....600hp to the wheels....omg.... expensive though.

i am quite fond of the "tacozilla" tacoma body on the 350 blazer chassie.... i want.....

I supercharged my 2.7 and put a HARD 85,000 miles on it. I took the head off to see how bad it was wearing, and it all still looked new. Compression was perfect, valves were perfect, and it still fired and ran like the day I put it on, when it hit 100,000 miles. :)

I'd like to see an electric locker for the rear axle. Without swapping axle housings or radically modifing the original housing.

ARB is the only selectable locker for us. $$$$$

how did you go about supercharging your 2.7.... where did you get the charger????? i was thinking about taking my ac compresser out and rigging up some sort of home made supercharger..... but my ac compresser isnt even hooked up to anything at all no belt no hoses nothing its just sitting there.... i believe there is potential for some type of power on that empy pully.... just havent had time to brainstorm it yet....

An AC compressor has no where near enough volume of air output to feed the engine.

I like that setup, especially being they used an Eaton supercharger. It looks like they have something in the works for 05+ too. I might just have to slap one of these on my truck when i roll past that magic 100k point and the warranty is up.

Thats true, to a certain extent. He is speaking of aftermarket performance upgrades from the factory, i.e. the TRD Supercharger that is available as a factory approved bolt on for the V6. This setup is also warranted under the factory warranty.

On the other hand, the setup mentioned above would have no chance in hell of getting a factory warranty. But from the looks of Alpines website, it sure looks like they have something in the works for the 05+ Tacoma 2.7s.
