Looking to get some insight from someone in and/or around Phoenix that has their A&P license. I just found out today that the Marine Corps is separating me in March after 9 years of serviceas a Hornet mechanic, and I will have my A&P before I get out.

I heard that they are looking for mechanics for the bone yard at Davis My Air Force base in Tucson Arizona. Depreserving and selling planes to other countries. Good luck and Semper Fi.

I saw that as well. Haven't decided if I want to be that far out on an island. LOL

It's not that bad. It's not as hot and the cost of living is also a little lower. Then again I was at MCAS Yuma on AV-8B's for 8.5 years.

I would actually rather be in Yuma than Tucson for the simple fact of how close it is to San Diego.

True but you have to go where the works is.

Warner Robins AFB is hiring. You really don't need an A&P, it helps, and there is a good vo-tech and base related college classes for logistics and engineering. Lowest cost of living area in the country I believe. I retired from there a few years back. Message me with questions and look on Indeed and USA jobs. Lockheed is a good option also if you can pass the test. The top mechanic test was rather hard. Took me almost 12 hours to build the project. F-15 work lead and logistics here.
