I'm going to be up there this weekend and planning to do a long drive on Sunday. Currently planning the Hurley River road out of Pemberton up to Gold bridge then around to Lilloet and back. Alternative is to loop back via the Highline road, but heard that the duffey lake area is also really nice.

Any other alternatives that locals recommend? Region looks pretty dry this time of year so wondering if there are other options closer to whistler or is this the best bet for a journey with some offroading?

    Any advice appreciated.

The drive from Pemberton along Lillooet lake , Harrison lake to Harrison hotsprings is really nice

That drive is decent, but not much to speak of in terms of views (other than driving parallel to a few lakes), and the bridge is out 50km from Harrison, so unless OP is equipped for a potentially deep-water route around, he'll be turning back at that point. There are some decent campsites and two hot springs along the route. Sqloquet hot springs are especially worth checking out (expect a small daily use/camping fee to be collected).

OP, if you're not afraid of a little pin stripe action, there is a road about 45mins south of Lillooet that will take you to the top of a mountain range. Phenomenal views, but currently fairly smokey. PM if you want info.

Yeah your right about that bridge being out.
I did the drive last fall and it was great, road was in good condition, not many people and nice camping by the lake.
That looks like the Molybdenite area in your pics, pretty spectacular up there.

    Wow that looks amazing. Thanks!

PM’ing for info. I’m being accompanied by family and friends with a Mazda CX so not sure that will make it. But if they decide to do something else I might attempt this. It’s not clear yet what the entire group is planning.

Also, Between Hurley and highline, which is more scenic?

Haven't done Hurley nor Highline myself, so can't speak to that.

Hurley and Highline are easy for 2wd/AWD cars, but very washboardy. Highline has better views IMHO. It's worth it to check out Seton and the lake there and come back along Carpenter Lake. I'm going to Molybdenite Lake Monday, after heading up East Harrison Sunday and camping somewhere along the way. East Harrison over Kokopi pass is pretty and remote. It would be some challenge to do either of these roads in a CX, as the Highline has just a few rough sections, but they are rough. Let us know what you chose.
