Seems like a bad reason to want to wear new tires, but yea burnouts would be best. Ive never done it but ive seen it, rubber flys

Yeah. It really shows just how selfish and self centered you are. Take light the fact that they have actually agreed upon buying you new tires when you NEED them. Maybe if you get a job and offer pay for everything yourself they will be more willing to help. Show some responsibility. And grow up a little here.

EDIT: Saw you said you were paying. So SAVE and buy wheels and tires then. Put the lift and new wheels on at the same time.

Then go out on your own and buy the new tires. Sell the old ones, take your parents out to dinner, then give them the rest of the money you got for the old tires.

Jebus people, READ THE OP's POST.

HE IS BUYING THE TIRES. Not his parents.

Honestly I don't see why they won't let you do it to start with. Honestly one of the first thing I did was ditch the rugged fails and put on BFG AT KO's. Best upgrade I did. The truck actually had traction, was safer and funner to drive. Even going up a snowy pass (El Oso Road, 4-Peaks outside of Phoenix, AZ) my PreRunner did amazing almost never losing any traction. Didn't even have to turn my locker on. My dad with some different tires (forget which off the top of my head) actually had to go to 4-Hi to get up the pass because it was having problems biting. I'd throw money down the Rugged fails would have done the same.

So my suggestion is... instead of burning them up, convince them that selling the relativity new tires on craigslist to apply a discount to proper safer tires is a better route to take. That way you show initiative for both saving money, and safety. It'd be hard to argue that. Just because a tire has good tread, doesn't make it a safe and good tire.

Rest assured, they will wear out pretty fast no matter what.

I have the stock Bridgestone Duellers on my 2009 Sport. At 17K, they are ready for replacement. OEM tires are not the same as what you buy off the shelf - even if they have the same name. OEM tires are a softer compound and wear REALLY fast. They do this to make the ride softer and quieter during test-drives. Soft ride = more sales.

Tires wear very fast for aggressive drivers - fast turns, quick accels and sudden brakes. The problem with this is you are putting other drivers at risk. Please do not do this - it will be far more costly than pissing off your parents or dealing with crappy tires for the next year.

Burnouts on hot asfault are safe and wear a tire pretty quickly. Do it, then rotate your tire, then do it again.

Oh, and don't get caught doing it. Start early by feeding your parents lines of crap every now and then. Make comments about how fast your tires seem to be wearing. Say something like "man, I'd never buy these tires again...I can't believe how fast they are wearing".

Don't have an argument about wanting new tires then come back 2 days later and show them your bald tires. They can be fooled but they probably ain't stupid.

Things to add in the original post:

Am am a kid, but have a job and am paying for everything. My parents just think it is silly for me to buy new tires when the ones I have now are perfectly fine. I only want bigger tires because i want to lift it.

had your post read like this^ you would not have gotten so much flack. I did edit my post before you posted again. :D

Just drive and save up until you can buy some really badass tires for $200 each... By the time those are worn you can have enough money for the lift and tires. Maybe even new wheels if your really saving!

On the other hand, go to tire discounters and do the 12 months same as cash deal and get new tires now, make the payments, sell the old, and put that money towards the new tires! In with the new, out with the old!

Do burnouts until the tread seperates from the sidewall and rearranges your bedsides
