    Hey Guys,
I design some vehicle for fleet use and we are in the process of designing out a '24 Tacoma. We are specifically looking at the TRD OR and was wondering if anyone who has one can confirm that it does not haee a auto shut off/idle timer. Many modern cars will turn off after 30 minutes and it is increasingly difficult to disable. With the addition of push to start....im afraid this generation has it. Anyone test it out?

What sort of scenario would leave the truck idling for 30? And if it turns off, turn it back on?

we install a lot of sensitive electronics equipment that don't like when vehicles are started while running. These trucks are also sometimes left unattended and equipment run remotely so someone driving hours back out to tun it on before battery dies is not ideal.

Automatic engine shut off feature (except for New Caledonia)
●The vehicle is equipped with a feature that automatically shuts off the engine when the shift lever is in P with the engine running for an extended period.
●The engine will automatically shut off after approximately 1 hour if it has been left running while the shift lever is in P. ●The timer for the automatic engine shut off feature will reset if the brake pedal is depressed or if the shift lever is in a position other than P.
●After the vehicle is parked, if the door is locked with the door lock switch (P.133) from the inside or the mechanical key from the outside, the automatic engine shut off feature will be disabled. The timer for the automatic engine shut off feature will be re-enabled if the driver’s door is opened.

    From the owners manual.

Yeah if left in park it'll automatically turn off after 1 hour of idling.

Edit: I see this was already answered

I’m curious about the application. Just wondering why a truck versus trailer and generator is better.

These trucks are actually trainers and only see off road use. System is driven out to a remote location and used either manned or unmanned. No trailers are going to hold up to what we plan to throw at it.

We currently have 8 CLAPPED OUT 2008 2nd Gen Tacomas with between 40-60k miles on each....but man thats 60k off road, F**CK YOU, redlined at all times, driven by baboons miles.:burnrubber:
