I'm heading up to Victorville this weekend. My truck is 2wd with the rear locker "escape clause". I'm looking for trails or areas where I can get my feet dirty. This would be my first run since owning the truck so I want to take it easy, to learn the capabilities of the truck without being too remote or risky. Any ideas?

I've been to El Mirage a few years back but I'm looking for something closer to the 15 fwy. Are any of the dirt roads around the 15 legally accessible? I'm going to be near Bear Valley Road if that narrows it down a bit...

Forgive my ignorance if any of this is obvious. Thanks in advance!

Lucerne Valley is by you. Pretty easy for a 2wd truck just stay on the fire road unless you are looking for whoops then hit the race course there.

Which way are you coming from? There is cleghorn. It's about 10 minutes south of bear valley off the 15. It has it's own exit. Great trail to start on. Has different skill levels.

I come from LA taking the 210 to the 15. Both sound like great trails. Dirtopia shows them as easy. If not I'm close to El Mirage...

Well it's right there off the 15. Cleghorn has a main fire road. Then bypasses off to the sides. Some are easy. Some medium. Some difficult. Lucerne is a little drive. Maybe like 25 minutes east of the 15 off bear valley. That's just mostly prerunning the open desert.
