Any Benefits For Upgrading UCAs If You Are Not Lifting?

    Like the subject line says. If you are staying at stock height, or only lifting to level your height, are there any benefits that would make upgrading to a different UCA make sense? For example, I know some of them give some additional adjustments to caster and camber. Or, with what they are designed for, would changing to an upgraded UCA at stock height create problems?

    No and maybe. The only reason to upgrade UCAs is to correct camber issues after lifting. Sometimes, when you lift the front, the front tires will be tilted in at the top, negative camber. Aftermarket UCAs will be a little longer to push the top of the tires out.

    Been trying to find the answer to this! I know on the FJs its almost a necessity to put on UCA. Not sure if it's the same with Tacomas with a 2-3" leveling lift.

    I just leveled my front with the rear. Got the extended foxes with jba arms in the front so I can gain the extra down travel

    This. You can allow for more over all wheel travel while still keeping the stock ride height (how I have my camburg 1.25” uniball uppers and 2.5 extended icon c/o). As for the alignment the aftermarket arms may(?)give you more caster at a stock ride height which is good If you like a stable ride , not like a furniture dolly lol.

    that's not complete.

    the primary reason one would add aftermarket uca's to a non-lifted truck will be to add caster. keep your cambers at zero and add caster for highway driveability. stock uca's max caster is fairly low. increasing caster with uca's capable of more caster (and they are different one maker to the next) will add 2 or more degrees of caster depending on how you do your alignment.

    It’s probably gonna depend on the UCA as well. Some are fixed and you would have to set it via the lower control arm alignment. Some UCAs have adjustable Heim pivots which would allow for even more adjustment. Some have a few settings for the ball joint position which lets u adjust as well. Point is yes the UCA will allow for more caster vs stock arms and alignment Windows
