    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    Sounds sorta like a manual tranny in reverse or a strained power steering pump. If you have a supercharger then it is just supercharger whine.

    I wish, but no supercharger...

    alt bearings or the idler pulleys are the most common

    Ended up being the alternator. Dealership had to order it.......will be replaced on Friday.

    Just a few LEDs...
    Yep, my first thought was "that sounds like an alternator". Power steering pumps make a similar sound due to cavitation caused by low fluid levels.

    Glad you found it. You might be able to get a rebuild kit for your old alternator and keep it for a backup. If it is just the bearings that are bad, you can pick these up cheap at a local bearing house.
