    Can't really speak for the Bay Area but I can say I've never rust proofed or under coated a vehicle in my life. Neither did my dad before me. I've never seen an ounce of rust on any of them. - San Diego

    My 09 that I bought with 16k miles on it, in 2012, now has around 60,000 Bay Area miles on it. No rust. No spray protection.

    None at this time and that's just what I wanted a stock used truck to start with
    I under coated mine. I think it just makes everything look fresh and it only prevents bad things to come

    Personally, I would recommend you atleast use spray can (rustoleum). If you plan on going to Reno/Tahoe/Yosemite, then definitely "yes".
    For less that $50 you get multiple coats and lasts for ever...When I did my "other" toys, I used a pressure washer to clean it and did not even sand or itch it.

    What do you guys recommend to spray with? I just got my 14' DCSB and plan to take it out to tahoe multiple times this winter. I don't mind spending $50 to prevent some rusting.

    Okay so I know I said I think rust proofing is totally overkill in most areas of Ca however, I picked up a couple of cans of fluid film and went to town today. I figured a few bucks for peace of mind couldn't hurt even if it is likely never needed
