Nice dude. That first pic is bad ass. Our first academy is next week. I missed it because I guess RPT never got my medical paperwork I turned in, so I am not cleared to go back to work. Gotta love the state. This happens up here all the time. So how is it being a medic?

I just got a call from our hiring coordinator, she calls and says "Jack, I hear your not coming back?" I said "NONONONO RPP never got my paperwork, I will find out more tomorrow on whats gonna happen" she laughed and said "Be here monday the 17th at 0800." So I got freakin lucky. The first academy is usually the easiest because the instructors dont give a shit lol

This is my 4th season. Our rehire academy sucks. Its at a station in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and if more than 3 people are on the internet it pretty much doesnt work and your stuck in the barracks with 30 dudes and 4 toilets, it gets pretty nasty in there quick lol

Ya we get the option to go home too, but its about a 45-1hr drive for me and I guess they look down on you if you go home. Thanks man, im sure it will be boring as usual. My engine number is 2468, pretty easy to remember. We dont get out a whole lot, cuz we're must cover and a 1 1/2hr drive from HQ

Ours is a 14. A slow as hell 14  The reason it takes us over 1 1/2hrs to get to the ECC is because we have to go over 2 summits at 15mph lol. We are starting to get a lot of the 34's, man those things are nice

I am on a USFS Idaho handcrew, have been for five years. Been on MANY California fires. All I can say is the Cal Fire guys really know their LCES.....Locate Cooler, Establish Shade. We always get a kick out of it. Once after a 24 hour shift in N Cal, we were driving out at 5 AM, loopy from hiking and working so long, and there was a Cal Fire crew asleep in the dozer trail....bout got runned over due to all the smoke and dust!!! Talk about bad place to catch some Z'zzzz! We got a folding chair that has CAL FIRE wrote on the back, just to remind us of Cali. It is also a running joke how you can tell CAL FIRE guys from shots/handcrews at dinner....always clean as a whistle after a fire shift. Nice guys n gals though, makes some of us want to join just so we dont have to hike our dicks in the dirt all day and we can just sit back n watch it burn.
