I was not referring to the fenders in my liking this front, I just like the size in proportion to a 5ft bed but with the 3Gen fenders (complete 3Gen body) and headlights. I also like a good rake to a hood for better up close veiwing. $.02

2020 or 2021 would be consistent to previous mid-cycle refreshes. I wouldn't be surprised if they already finalized a new front fascia design and are working on tooling and part production. New headlights, grille shape, front bumper cover, tail lights, and more wheel options. Probably some new interior bits like a different steering wheel, seat material/pattern, nicer head unit etc.

    I'd like to see:
    Less grille
    Cleaner front bumper
LED tail lights with amber signals
HID head lights on all trims
    Power seats with height adjustability

As long as they keep drum brakes, bro lean, and the front diff needle bearing. Without those, it’s not a Tacoma.

Black grille with a chrome bumper looks pretty sharp though.

The Sport grille isn't bad (bottom) but it is take stupidly priced packages to get. Not sure why we had to go full harmonica on the normal ones...

"Bigger and bolder than anyone has bigger and bolded before" is the name of the game in the truck world. The biggest, the flashiest, the gaudiest is better than the neighbors truck and at the end of the day that is all that matters... for some.

Not just popular, it's the law. They have to put these crimson chin things on to cover up the front crash bumper (ours is a bunch of rubber pyramids facing forward). Pretty soon, the govt is just gonna hand auto manufacturers a bunch of mandated things they have to put on and all the auto manufacturers will do is wrap it in sheet metal, at least that's the way we're headed right now. No creativity left in it

No mfg makes a good looking truck. Period. The 3rd gen Tacoma isn't any worse (or better) looking than the 2nd gen. The 1st gen has the advantage of size making it less ugly just because there is less there. None are absolute marvels of design excellence. The Tundra is kind of awkward looking, but not any uglier than the domestic turds. The least ugly truck you can buy today is the RAM regular cab short bed. But they are everywhere and "least ugly" isn't anywhere near "great looking"

This is what a good looking truck looks like...

I think the 3rd Gen suffers a bit in most photographs because of lens distortion in your average phone camera. I find you gotta be at the exact right angle with an I-phone or it looks like the nose is 100 miles long.

It’s good looking, but not always photogenic in cameras with no depth-of-field, which is what most people are using these days.

    We are talking about 6".

    Yeah. 6".

Back the front of the truck up 6" and it looks fine.

It looks mean and tough. I get it. It's just 6" too much mean and tough.

I think that this is the best looking truck that Toyota has ever produced, and one of the best looking trucks in Automotive history.

I guess that is just my opinion. I have received more than a few comments on my 3rd Gen from complete strangers, so I think my opinion is shared.

I agree, I get the same compliments. I will say the type of grill you have/put on these 3rd gens makes a huge difference on whether your truck looks bad ass or not, a lot more than other trucks. IMO

Us old farts remember 1974 when the guberment mandated huge bumpers on cars! These Taco bumpers are light years beyond those beasts!
