French press takes the longest to make for me. Usually is 10 minutes or so to brew. But I'll be damned if it isn't one of the tastiest brew methods I got though.

Huh. Our timer is usually about 4 minutes off the boil.

I use James Hoffman’s method. It takes longer but it’s so much better than just 4 min brew and press.
Add coffee. Add water. Let sit for 4 mins. Stir. Let set for minimum of 4 more minutes. Scoop off foam/remaining grounds off top. I don’t fully press down either, I just use the filter about halfway down and pour gently. Best tasting French press ever.

That's fair. Ours is the 'we gotta get out of the house and have decent coffee for us' method.

Love a good coffee debate. For time's sake I just use the classic mr. coffee drip machine but grind my own beans, which I'd recommend no matter what (burr grinder especially). The Stumptown homestead roast is one of my favorites and roasted in Portland. Merit Coffee out of San Antonio is also a great option. Black Rifle is solid too plus you get tacticool points

I only do French press when I got time for that exact reason. I just do a v60 pour over in the am when going to the office. Slightly more time consuming as I gotta stand around for about 2 mins but not too bad

Well, the espresso machine is no longer working... Now to decide if it's worth trying to diagnose or just say fugg it and buy a new machine. Only paid $50 for this one used, so I'm not to upset if buying a new one, but don't really want to

I was debating between the 300 and this 500. The 300 can only get from Seattle Coffee Gear, and have to pay taxes. So after taxes it comes out to $72 less than the 600 on WLL. If I'm already spending that kinda cash, another $72 won't hurt. Plus the 600 looks WAY better than the 300. I'm still doing research though, but I think I'm locked in to one of these machines. I found a used one on Facebook Marketplace for $1k, but it's 2.5 years old. Not sure if I want to do that or just get new and have the 3 year warranty. I'll take a peek at IDC though too

edit: LOL fuck IDC. They want $2299 for it. It's $1849 on WLL
double edit: I think it's canadian dollars
triple edit: can't order an espresso machine from them. They don't ship to the US apparently

Well hell, I didn’t know they don’t ship to the US. I mean if you’re spending that money just pick up a Rocket R58. Lol

Big nope. That's way over my budget. I wasn't even planning on spending this much on a new machine lol. I'm looking in to some ECM machines as well now.

I’ve looked at them too. Not sure how they compare to the Rocket’s but they look like they’re close. Plus a good bit cheaper.

The Rockets went up last year to $3k. They were at $2400 and not bad when they went on sale. They may have priced themselves out of what I’m willing to spend too.

I think ECM and Profitec are the same company. The machines look IDENTICAL. Only difference is single boiler vs HX. $300 cheaper for the ECM SB over the Pro500. It is tempting. I have more research to do now :annoyed:
