This is a very similar situation to me, except I'm in southwest Colorado and Utah area. I also have the King OEM with deaver springs, and have the same impressions as below. They are so much nicer in every situation and make longs days off road, or even on road, so much easier and more enjoyable. I've put a lot of offroad miles on mine already from fast dirt, to washboards, to potholes, to rock crawling, with weight in the back or just a bike, and they are amazing and haven't had a single problem, they just take whatever you throw at them all day long.

Yes, I know that... but you pay the price for quality parts they better function as well as look like quality parts. I don't want my 2k plus suspension to look like crap out of the box, I rather make them look like crap myself by actually using them.

It’s barely noticeable. Your standards are way too high.

That’s probably from clanking against the shock body and for all we know you did that when you were checking them out

No, my standards are not high, and no, I did not cause the damage myself, I wouldn't post pics of the damage if I caused it... They were wrapped in adhesive foam packing, and the nicks on the reservoir were wrapped that way. I posted a pic of the reservoirs only, there are more scrapes and nicks throughout the shock bodies and bottom mounts that are actually far worse. Are you sponsored by King or affiliated with them that you're defending them??

So, for example, if you purchased your truck brand new and upon receiving it there were door dings and scratches on the exterior of the truck, would you be bothered by it?

Thanks for the vid. They're actually being replaced.

No different than driving it home and getting rock chips in the paint or windshield.

I personally don’t care about insignificant items like this to include items I buy.

My Deavers arrived with surface rust. That’s what happens to metal. I didn’t bitch, I lightly sanded them and rattlecanned them. They do their job and what I paid for. I didn’t pay for Kings to have a fancy paint job.

Keep crying. No one at the mall cares and neither does anyone here.

You care enough to keep replying.

Keep talking shit so everyone can see how much of a troll you really are... you're the type of person who give car enthusiast and these forums a bad name, rather helping all you do is give your negative opinion like you do in most of your replies. Been around web forums to know eventually people like you fade away.

Didn’t mean to fade away.... been out of service out in the mountains of NM.

Want to thank (most of) you guys for all the great responses and all the help making a decision. Ultimately it was a pretty easy one after reading thru the forums and your responses. Definitely pulling the trigger on an OEM King setup. Probably today actually. Pretty pumped!!!

Now just need to pick a vendor..... lol :quickdraw:

I have Kings on my Jeep. My only complaint is the exterior finish doesn’t hold up very well. I live in Southern California so they don’t see much snow and the finish looks terrible.

Question for the king shocks. I probably drive about 25,000 highway miles a year commuting to work. Does that mean I’ll need to rebuild my shocks every 2 years if I get a type like king vs OEM?

What about ADS? I think they’re better than King in many ways.

Component quality, unique valving (progressive compression, digressive rebound) , TONS of R&D, great CS, etc
