Well, it's gonna happen, even if it's only a few paint chips here and there. Impossible to avoid forever.

I had a hit and run in front of my house that caused $2,200 in damage. Needed a new bed side and repair of the access door. Needless to say I was pissed, but the body shop did an excellent job and she looks new again. I was only out my $300.00 deductable.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I have had the WORST luck with mine, but none of the damage has been that bad. Here's what has happened in 14 years:

1: After having had the truck for 2 weeks, I was going down a country road. A gravel truck that had no cover sped by me and dumped gravel on my truck, pitting the bumper ( black painted bumper), fog lights, and grille.

2: 6 months later A man mowing his field hit a rock which broke my windshield. Had it replaced.

3: A year later I was on the freeway. A truck loaded with scaffolding was in front. A pipe fell off the back of it, bounced up and nailed the bumper, swung around and somehow hit the door. The bumper and grille were replaced with new chrome ones ( score for me!). The entire door shell had to be replaced.

4: A year after I moved to Cali I came out one day to find that someone had backed into my bumper. I ordered a new one on Ebay. Its a Taiwanese knock-off but it looks just fine. Replaced it myself.

5: 6 months later I got up after staying at my soon-to-be-wife's house. Someone had backed into the side of it, putting a dent in the side of the truck bed. Had the dent removed. No bondo, they just used dry ice or something.

6: Was going down the freeway a year later the day I had lost my job. A truck in front of me picked up a rock. It cracked my windshield. I said hell with it and the crack is still there 5 years later.

7: Someone ran into the rear bumper. I bought a used chrome one on craigslist for $50. Replaced it myself.

That's it so far but you would never be able to tell since I've repaired all of them and all repairs involved replacing the affected areas.

Interesting idea for a thread. Is the idea to make yourself feel better about your accident?

Ran into a large fan suspended from the roof in a parking garage where I live. A semi-noticeable dent just over the front windshield and a scratch across the entire roof. I was pissed, but refuse to get it fixed. Don't want bondo on my truck. The truck didn't have a scratch on it before that happened...

I got a few scratches I think some of them could of been buffed out but I hit them up with some touch up paint. Hopefully they don't start to rust down the road.

Scratched fender flare while parked on the side of the road before going off-road the first time at a nearby lake. Truck was less than a week old! What kind of crap is that?!?! This guy parks next to me and I heard his door thunk on my flare.... I was looking forward to putting that scratch on all by myself but Nnnnoooooo! He had to take that pleasure away from me :D

He had a hang-dog face when he saw me and for a moment I let him think I was mad but then I let him off by saying "Damn, I was going to aim for that spot with a branch in a few minutes..."

second time i pretzeld the tip from back of the muffler all the up and around the axle...gotta watch out for loose rocks when backing up..also at the same time wires for the ABS and brake sensors were severed/crushed...
