Any differences between a 2012 and a 2013?

After a long search I have found a 2012 Access Cab TRD Off Road. It has 158,000 miles and looks sharp. The frame appears to have normal rust for a 10 year old vehicle in Oklahoma although this one began its life in Boston. Going to check it out in Texas tomorrow.
I currently have an identical (both white) 2013 SR5 4x4 with 190,000 miles. Love the truck but just want a TRD. I had to replace the rear springs on this truck. They are a 3+1. The TRD is a 2+1. The SR5 had the 3+1 originally. The middle leaf was broken.
Are there many differences in the two years including reliability?

I believe the radio was updated to the touch screen radio in 13 but other than that and some slight ECU programming changes they are identical in every way.
2012 had more issues with the Secondary Air Injection System on the 4.0l than later models mainly due to it being the first year for that system on a 4.0l and them not having the engine off purge that 13-15 models got, there was actually an extended warranty on the 2012 4.0l Secondary Air System components (10 years from the date of first sale).

TRD OffRoad as I'm sure you know has an electronic locking rear differential where all other models have an open differential with electronically simulated LSD.
09+ TRD OffRoad models also have a hydraulic brake booster/ABS control unit as one assembly instead of the conventional vacuum booster, master cylinder, and ABS unit being separate assemblies.
Other than those minor differences the trucks are mechanically identical.
Make sure you are getting a real TRD OffRoad, there have been quite a few people that bought "fake" ones, just remember if it doesn't have a locking rear differential it's not a TRD OffRoad.

I don’t think the 13 has the backup cam and temp in the rear view nor does it have the separate clock in the dash like the 2012.

Thanks for the differences. This is a real TRD. Unfortunately the 2013 had the TRD Off Road stickers and was marketed as such. I wasn’t familiar with the second generation TRD package. Tough lesson but still like the truck.

Not sure what year the backup cam was moved from the mirror to the radio but the clock in the middle of the dash remained until the 2015 year model.

I have a 2013 TRD sport and it has the temp and backup camera in the mirror. I think it was that last year of the temp and camera in the mirror.

Access cab OffRoad is kind of a unicorn. I'd grab it. Is it a manual?

No, it is an automatic. I bought a 2005 TRD manual with low miles and looked like a two year old truck in December. Moved everything over from the SR5 and drove it in heavy traffic across Oklahoma City. Got home and moved everything back. Sold the TRD for a premium. I am at that age I’d rather hold my coffee in the morning and maybe something else when on the farms. My rowing gears days are behind me.
