Are there any differences between the factory lower control arms of a 2wd PreRunner versus the 4WD ? I thought they were the same...

can someone concur or explain the difference?

    thanks

No differences. My new spindles are off a 2wd. Now the actual hub assembly is different.

Yup all 6 lug 2nd gen trucks use the same LCA, regardless of 2wd / 4wd, same goes for spindles, .... hubs are different tho like stated.

Now the 5lug LCA is completely different than the 6 lug lca.

If they are all the same, why are the part numbers different? Genuine question. Not trying to be of those guys who always argues a point. I have a lock on some OEM LCAs from a member who had a 2wd truck, but mine is 4wd.

Top set says “without prerunner” that means 5-lug

    TLDR; 5-lug vs 6-lug

Not sure what "Without Prerunner means" 4x4 is without prerunner..? but here's their fitment guide which includes prerunner...?

My Local dealer has a much clearer Layout of "What this fits". 4806904040 list is too long for a screenshot..https://parts.hendricktoyotaapex.com/p/63101497/4806904040.html
    upload_2021-5-26_8-34-40.jpg

More importantly here's the GRN/TRN numbers that it fits. TRN 220 == 5-lug

I appreciate the quick responses, but what is the difference then. They both say that they will work for my model.

The one (04040) clearly states that it is for 4wd...The other does not specify 2wd...?

This is why parts counter guys want your VIN, sometimes the website isn't correct

I saw that in your post, but the vehicle fitment also lists 4.0L V6. AFAIK, the 5 lug was not offered in a V6, so that would indicate that the 04030 could be used on the 5 or 6 lug.

X-Runners were 5-lug V6, but they are specifically called out, who knows what the LARGE CAB is

That's why I specifically showed the GRN/TRN numbers. Those relate to specific builds.

Not to beat a dead horse here but here I go in doing that.

so I can put 2WD LCA in 4WD TACO? all I can find mostly is 2WD LCA on eBay. Only can find one drivers side 4WD LCA. Can not find a passenger side 4wd LCA.

2023 Me would tell 2017 Me that there's no difference between the 2nd gen 4wd LCA and 2nd gen 2wd prerunner lca. Both trucks are 6 lug.

The 5 lug 2WD and Xrunner LCAs are different, if I recall.

Share the ebay link and I'll give my opinion if it will fit.

sorry about the post with both pics of 4wd. But pics are from a Toyota mechanic that has looked these up for me. Both are the same part number for the LCA. So I think I’m good.

Sorry, i walk back what I said earlier. It was based on the assumption that we were talking 2nd Gens. I know zilch about the 3rd gens but do know that the 2nd and 3rd gen lcas are not direct replacements due to the size difference of the lower cam bolt.
