I'm gonna head out past Gold Canyon on the state trust land tomorrow morning to see if I can find any flying. Hopefully they're out there and I'll go back Sunday morning to kill some birds. If anyone wants to go or is already planning on going let me know and maybe we can link up.

I grew up on the west side, used to have lots of sweet spots. Now I spend my time trying to find some out this way. Haven't had much luck though. When I was a kid we used to hunt in the Agua Fria river bed. I'm pretty sure that's in the middle of town now!

Went out to the spot this morning. Saw a few dove on the ground but none flying. I did see a bunch of quail that were not afraid of the truck so I'll be going back in November! The area was a soupy, muddy, mess though. Kept thinking I was gonna get stuck, and without the locker I might have. So I left there and I ended up taking Ironwood south quite a ways and then southeast for a while. Found a spot where there were a bunch of birds flying and shotgun shells on the ground so I'm guessing it's a legal spot to hunt. I'll find out tomorrow morning!

It was pretty busy, lotta first light flyers and some real fat whitewings. Limited in 40 minutes on about 25 shots, better than my norm.
