While you're at it you might as well try to get your $10 check from Redbull because it doesn't actually "give you wings."

I heard about that one too, "no proof of purchase required"?? So am guessing the amount shrinks to less than a penny after the billions sign up for it.

I'm the 3rd owner and bought (also 2003) from private person. When you transfer title, and register, your in DMV data base. That's how you get all recall notices, and stuff like that from Toyota. Thats how I got the check, and all recalls in the mail. You don't need to buy from dealer. I know nothing and did nothing. Stuff just comes in the mail.

"Again" Has anyone done the recall spare tire mount repair.....???????

I haven't gotten anything yet but a notice came for the 4runner and Toyota is going to install Stop something software I believe it was on it for free.

I got mine a couple days ago, have an '02 with manual? throttle, so no chance of the unintended acceleration issue. My check was for $8.97. If my bank didn't support depositing checks with my smartphone I would have just tossed it in the recycle bin. Must be to make up for the lost value due to the depreciation of the Toyota name or something.

So there is settlement for lost value because of drive by wire unintended acceleration urban myth problem and people are getting checks for this and they don't even have a drive by wire vehicle? 1st gens have drive by wire? or everybody owning a toyota is getting one because the brand has been marred by the problem? Not sure what is going on with this or that I want a check not worth the paper and postage or that I even care......but yeah, sure, send some free money.

I has this happen at a T intersection. Engine started racing and I had to stand on the brake and shift into neutral. Turns out the whole airbox to intake nipple was cracked. I rigged it with JB Weld until I could rig up a flange and seal. Hasn't done it again and I never would have believed it until it happened to me. But I think my conditions were unique.

I work in the service department at a local Lexus dealer. A customer called me to ask about it and said it was $29.

I received a check last week in the amount of...are you ready for this....$5.65.
What's the point? Seems like a lot of wasted time and effort for such a little amount.

Gt a check for 29 and change, guess I'll get a little bit of gas. Anyone know if I cash the check will remove any liability to toyota if I suddenly have burst of speed?
