I've had my Tacoma now for almost 6 weeks now…1300km. Attached are photos with all the small mods added. After making 3 trips to the mountains, and commuting around the city, I've come to realize this Tacoma will be the first out of 5 previous purchased Tacomas where I don't have any interest in keeping. At this point, I think I'm ready to move on from the Tacoma life I've lived for almost 20 years.
Anyone here know of someone who has sold their 2016? I don't want to be desperate and take a loss, so maybe I should focus on the US….post on Autotrader.com?

Hmm, guess I have no front pictures…have a bug deflector and BP skid plate.

Do you have it paid off? Or still on loan?

Good luck, anything in particular that was bothering you? If you are coming off of 5 tacomas, you probably know that you may as well drive it for another 20K - you'll probably get the same price.

I'm quite experienced with Tacomas. Always kept them for 3-4 years and sold them for peak price. I won't sell if I get so-called "Hosed". I'm contemplating posting in the US as the original post mentioned. My truck is $45,000+, I'd be MORE then happy to sell it in the states for $35,000US…its fully loaded with lots of extras.

I put down $35,000, $7,000 owing on it.

What I can't get used too? To most, they are little things, but I am already over thinking them…
    - the shift points drive me nuts. When in cruise, truck seems to always fight to keep speed.
    - I've had to have the tires re-balanced twice, and it still feels like it needs re-doing…hope it's just in my head!
    - The sound system doesn't sound as good as my 2012.
    - The ride in general feels shaky…especially in the back.
    - Not a fan of the nav/music system.

Yes, it sounds like I'm being fussy, but I think I'm ready for something else.

It's going to be hard to sell into the USA. Think about it. Any private sale is going to have so much over the phone/email trust involved... do you really want to go through that? I mean the buyer has to either trust you and buy a truck you didn't like sight unseen or you have to bring it somewhere at your cost just for them to potentially say no. Then there is lots of work involved past then or, worse, a third party involved to get the truck imported to the USA which might eat into your price.

On the other side you might be able to sell it to a US dealer but then you're going to only get CAD auction pricing. No way a dealer of any sort out of the USA pays more than that. Maybe you know someone who is involved with a dealership? They could easily check the auction prices for 2016 Tacoma's, which there might not be a ton of but there should be a few, and let you know what they sell for in that market which would also be close to the CAD trade in value.

If you're ready for something else you could always check locally for what you want and set up a trade or trade in. With the crappy economy that might be your best bet. Lots of people are dumping their toys for cheap and some dealers are already moving farther off of MSRP with the lower interest in there trucks from businesses.

On a side note where you driving on 16th ave (highway 1) on Thursday? I followed you for a bit if so in my Ford F150 on my way out to Airdrie from the U of C area.

I bet you could list it for $45k privately and get pretty close to that. Have you gone back to the dealer you bought it from to see what they'll give you for it? Yes, you'll lose something but it may not be as bad as you think, especially if they're desperate for 2016 Tacomas like we are. You could also trade it in on something else and take advantage of the tax savings.

Good points guys. Forgot the whole (we have no taxes versus neighboring provinces).
I did a quick check on kijiji...found there were TONS of 2016's for sale in the $46k range.

I dont understand the complaints on the sound system, i guess the younger people want more power and bass, i listen to talk, sports, news, etc. I think its just fine. I buy this truck for its size, reliability, resale value. Not stereo. Oh and the 4x4 capabilities kick ass!!

Again Mike…I'm comparing to all my previous trucks, and the price paid compared to other categories. The resale value is probably #1 why I keep coming back. I just assumed the stereo would be better, not worse.
The problem for me…now that we're getting into the $45k region, I'm seeing several more options creep into view.
