Yeah, yeah, I know. "It's a truck. If I wanted luxury, I should have bought a Lexus, blah, blah, blah."

But seriously, I live on a farm and drive my kids to school in the morning on my way to work. Remote start would be pretty friggin' awesome to get the windows defrosted and the engine warmed up before the three of us pile in.

Has anyone installed (or had installed) a remote start on a 3rd Gen? If so, any thoughts?

Brand? Thoughts? I've never had it, but my wife has it from the factory and it's pretty friggin' awesome. Her's even sets the temp and turns on the seat warmers...

Originally I had an Avital one that was only remote start and keyless entry. Had it for years and worked great.

I've been wanting an alarm anyway and there's been a recent increase of car thefts lately so I actually bought just yesterday the Viper Smart Start with GPS. It's a combo of an alarm, keyless entry, remote start, and GPS tracking all of which I can use on my phone. I can lock my truck if I'm across the country lol.

Plus I can set up invisible fences and movement alarms so if my truck moves or goes out of a boundary it alerts me immediately on my phone and I can see exactly where it's at if its stolen.
