I had a DCSB 2020 TRD OR and now I have a Regular cab 2010 4wd. I'm single and have no kids so that's perfect. Additionally, the short wheelbase makes this thing turn on a time. I get a long bed which I love more than the short bed. All in all, if I were to buy another 3rd gen, I'd definitely go with the access cab. I don't care for the extra cab space and the long bed is a big plus.

I have had my Access Cab for almost 6 years and would get another one if I were trade in. Kids are grown and normally it is me and my Golden Retriever on the dog platform in the back (which is the perfect height for the dog to sit and look out the back window.
    100244.jpg
Wanted a 6 foot bed that also fits in my garage. I can count the number of times a human has ridden in the back seat on one hand. I have said it before but I am thankful that Toyota still offers a ACLB, DCSB, DCLB, SR, SR5, Sport, Off Road, Limited, Pro, AT, MT, V6 and 4 cyl. Hopefully, there is a Tacoma that fits everyone's wants and needs.

I wouldn’t consider anything but an access cab, I want a 6 foot bed and a double cab long bed won’t fit in my garage. End of story.

Oh hell yeah. This was my first vehicle to a T at 16 years old (however this was from an image search). If I find another one, this time in manual, I'm buying it in a heart beat. I've already been on the look out on local sites and the moment I see one that isn't rusted through it's mine.

AC>DCSB>DCLB Woulda got an AC but kids, dog, and wife. The DCLB's proportions look goofy to me, I can't sleep in a tacoma "long bed" anyway and manual.

I've owned other a/c's, I don't think the 3rd Gen looks quite right as an a/c, the front end is just too long to pull it off.

Std Cab or AC for me. No need for the extra room. Would like them to make those back head rests easily removable as the seats are useless :)

I dated an access cab back in the 60's. She also put the rumble in "rumble seat".

With just enough space behind seat for a tool box or gear.

Pop the rear wall cover off and it's 2 bolts per headrest to be done with them forever

I've had access caba in my toyota pickups since my first back in 1984 when toyota called them extended cabs. Had them ever since. Those double cabs sell, but they will never be what i'd buy.

    1. If only it had a giant box attached to the rear designed specifically for carrying shit

    2. It's simple math, used double cabs sales are stronger because there are more of them. They sell at a higher rate and at a higher price point than access cabs because A. they make more double cabs and B. double cabs cost more when new. A decently equipped access cab will suffer no higher depreciation rate than double cabs. Stripped down SR 4 cylinder access cabs resold after a 30 month lease return from Orkin, Fastenall or Home Depot not included.

    3. Double cabs are ghey. Access cabs are a disappointing compromise. Standard cab is the best cab.

I'm not so sure double cabs cost more when comparing the same trim. I could of bought a double cab sr5 similar to everything i wanted off a dealers lot for a couple thousand less. Granted the dealers were pushing me to buy off their existing lot inventory, but the difference was quite a bit more than i figured would be. Getting prices to order an access cab just cost more imo when getting quotes from dealers.

    A few.
Same thing seems to be happening with full size trucks also. Trucks have become family movers instead of cargo movers
