I like mine! Didn’t need the seats and wanted the extra foot of bed for my kayak!

I took a TRD Sport AC MT because of this. I had to wait four months for the ordered truck to come in. I have since put a 3" lift kit on it and put 275/65R18 tires on it. I do love my access cab.

I don't think many beat the crap out of those old trucks than i did with my 1979 4wd. We took it over 900 miles from here into the bush of northern quebec on a weeks fishing trip, and actually made it back....and i mean barely. From montreal south the truck was running like chit.

I don't get the 4 doors and tiny bed thing. But thats just me. The minority.
My generation would call a 4 door truck a mom's car. Sorry.
Bought a new white SR5 4X4 "extra cab" in 1985. Bought a new white T100 "extra cab" in 1995 (still driving it)
And am going to (soon) order a new 2022 white "access cab" .... Just trying to decide between an SR5 & Sport
Drove a Sport access cab last week. But there are no SR5's to check out.
Help me decide.... (will start a new thread)

I don't understand your logic. Your manipulation by a dealer to buy what he had on the lot is not representative of actual proven sales numbers.

For example I could have walked into a deater and said I want to order the lowest grade Tacoma that Toyota makes, not one single upgrade, on the most basic model. Joe Slick could have responded with Sure thing buddy, I can order that and have it here in 90 days For $XXXXX OR I can sell you this sweet ass SR with an AM radio AND a deluxe bed mat for $1,000 less and you can drive it home today.

Only one of those numbers is real.

Kind of funny, the lowliest SR now comes with more options than the orig SR5.

I had more red toyotas than any other color since 78. Always liked red but as they age when kept outside 24/7, the red fades. That inferno red reminds me of my 78 wolverine.

unfortunately mine is kept outside in Vegas. might have to look up ways to keep that red looking extra bright. I've heard wax is great.

Just saying it pays to shop around and get quotes comparing apples to apples. I think even the msrp's can vary depending where one lives. I could have bought a double cab sr5 with the same tech package as a similar trim access cab at another dealer...i can't recall which cost more, but the msrp was very similar.

Might want to look into ceramic coatings or something along that line. I used a lot of different wax's, none seemed to work for the color fading once over 5 years old. There's much better products out there now to protect the finish. I had a ceramic glass coat finish done to my truck before taking ownership. Hopefully the finish will last many years as the truck still sits 24/7 outdoors.

I love my access cab. One drawback tho is mods are harder to find.

I love the look of the AC. If I did not have children I would have one instead of the DC.
