Retired now and want to buy land outside of Prescott to build on but wife wants to move back to Texas. Will hopefully know by this time next year as I have to sell some property up her first.

I love AZ. My dad has a house there. I went on an off road trip to camp on the rim of the Grand Canyon this Summer. I tell people this story about some sketchy guy who I found in the middle of nowhere but was comforted by the fact that I was carrying. My girlfriends roommates immediately freak out. "Oh my gosh you had a gun??" Fuck yeah I had a gun. Are you gonna go 45 miles off road and camp next to a cliff with your girlfriend and no cell service and have no way of protecting yourself from the crazy bush people?? haha. I am so much calmer if I am carrying because I don't feel like I'll get caught with my hands tied. Also makes me more aware of my temper and ability to control myself in stressful situations.

Same, foolishly kept a take-down lever action in the glove box - was worth way too much to be a truck gun - and a sks in a window rack back when they were thirty dollar rifles.

Prescott is beautiful and relatively close to everything you could want. Plenty of stuff to do in town. Only an hour and a half from Phoenix, 2 hours from Flagstaff. About 5 hours from the Grand Canyon I believe. Tons of back roads and hiking, camping, climbing and exploring just outside of town. Id move there in a heartbeat if i could get a solid job there! Maybe after i get my degree.

There is a joke that is along the lines of..

Billy goes to school in northern California, he goes hunting in the national forest before school and pulls up to school with a deer in the bed and a gun on the gun rack. School is cancelled, SWAT team moves in.

Bobby goes to school in Texas. Pulls up with his kill in the bed and his gun in the rack. Principle sees him on the way in and congratulates him on a nice kill and makes small talk about Bobby's rifle on the way onto campus.

Obviously this joke is outdated because now all schools are gun free but I still find it funny. Although we should not discuss gun control in the US. Politics talk is agains TW rules and I like this thread...

I almost always carry when I'm out camping. Either concealed or a full size 45 right on my hip! Both are legal!
Actually going shooting this afternoon, going to go pack once i get out of class.

My man, this thread is currently 177 pages long with about ten posts about o2. Read through the other pages. There is a ton of great stuff in here. I have learned a lot and changed some of my EDC truck items based on things I have read & seen here.

I really want to visit AZ. I love the warm temperatures and all the outdoor life there is to experience. Of course I've never been there but everyone says it's the place to be for mountain biking and nature lovers. My girlfriend has this idea in her head that it is nothing but barren desert land and I'm trying to change that.

Lol best part about exploring in a truck is you don't have to dress for the occasion.

Is the Brunette included with desert adventures?:D:thumbsup:

Looks great! I am hoping to get me and my lady (also a brunette) down there in the near future. For now the Central Eastern Oregon mountains will do.

I have a trip report on where we camped! Really cool spot and you'll most likely have it all to yourselves. Any 4x4 could make it. A pre runner with a locker could make it. Any truck could make it as long as it doesn't rain actually.

It's a Cayley. The smallest one with the overhang. We wanted the changing room and a place for the dogs to sleep. However, now I have a shell so they will probably sleep in the back where I can lock them in.

We have the largest continuous ponderosa pine forest in the world! 2 ski resorts, lots of desert too but there are rivers and lakes to explore even in the desert. It's awesome

I bought the LA Police Gear 3-Day Bag to use as a GHB. Found out it fits nicely with the shoulder straps over the access cab seat bottom. With the little connector strap between the shoulder straps it really stays put.
