Drove 4000miles from Seattle back to Houston and didn’t have a single problem- first drive between houston and Austin and got a chip in my windshield. By the time i got to my destination, was already 5-6inches long. Anyone know a good option/shop to replace windshield?I went to Toyota Fort Bend and they quoted me $1400(parts, labor, and calibration of TSS). They also said that they don’t have any in stock and it could take 2 weeks to 2 months for them to get in.

hoping someone had a better idea than shelling out a pile of cash since I have a feeling this may happen again since I drive to austin a lot to see my brother.

Update: Safelite can do the same job with non OEM windshield and recalibration for about 60% the price. They also have third party windshield in stock so I can do tomorrow.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

my deductible with insurance is $1k so if I go with safelite it’s all out of pocket. I need to get some quotes on insurance Bc I think I’m paying too much to have that high of a deductible.
