So they’re fixing it up for free and gonna restring for free. I’m happy enough with that. They said the saddle was suuuuuper low so that may have been why I was getting so much buzzing on my higher fretting

They have the epi Es 339 that I’m wanting. I picked it up and strummed it. It feels nice. I may have to buy that one I posted a few days ago now!

After they fix it, play it while your there. That open E and A fretted at the 11. See if you still get that sound you were describing earlier.

If so, ask em wtf that noise is and fix it.

Well now is the time to learn how to set up your own guitar, adjust the truss rod and action, intonate, level and address frets, and hopefully not buy into all the bullcrap that most guitarist fall for. Or just watch a bunch of Scott Grove YouTube videos. He may be long winded and polarizing but he’s accurate about all guitar topics.

They fixed it up. Sounds good. He said because it’s an old guitar, the bottom is starting to pull up. He have me this humidifier thing that you put between the strings and it’s supposed to introduce water back in and pull the wood back down naturally. Really cool shop. They’ve earned my business again for sure.

These new strings made the guitar sound SO much better. They didn’t have the elixir strings, so the guy recommended the Ernie ball everlast strings so I went with those. It sounds a bit brighter than the old strings which I like.

New strings make all the difference! If you want them to sound good as long as possible, there’s a few things that help.
Wash your hands (were have we heard that? Lol) before you play. Body oils can accelerate corrosion.
Wipe down your strings when your done.
But, yeah, I’m a big fan of elixirs. They definitely keep their tone the longest.

What do you wipe the strings down with? Like a regular towel? I’ll probably order the elixirs on Amazon for when these new ones break so I’ll have them ready to go

I just use a soft microfiber towel. Some guys buy products to apply, but I find clean hands, and a good wipe down are fine for me.

Cool. I’ll bring one from the garage in.

I also decided I will likely buy that epiphone Es 339 in a months time. I can’t resist
