I know it's in your cart. Don't lie.

I guess the guy didn't like the "made in China" sticker on the back of the hs.

i think mike (the guy that ran the forum and vintagekramer.com got out of the forum stuff) but don’t quote me in that.

I was on the Kramer forum from 06-09ish and it was a super fun / active place

This thread has slightly inspired me to dig out my junk and clean it up.

So I pulled out this Yamaha Pacifica, think it’s a 94 or 95. No idea what pick ups are in it. Hasn’t been touched in probably 15 years, still in tune, and plays amazing even with the nasty rusted Ernie Balls still on it.

    Old Carvin pickups?

    Didn't those have a PRS-ish bolt-on neck joint?

That strat body shape with less rounded horns(that an actual strat) reminds me a lot of a peavy predator I use to have. Never should have gotten rid of it.

Edit: same H/S/S config on it as well

That right that’s right. Carvin is correct. I couldn’t remember for the life of me. Good eye.

Yeah yeah, I remember the predator as well. Haven’t seen one in a long time. Always prefer the body of the pevy and the Yamaha because they “felt” thinner or more streamlined. Strats tend to feel balky. I know that subjective “feel” means nothing, but that’s how my head perceived it. Man do I miss some of those guitars like charvel and kramers.

I'm starting to see a LOT of improvement in my playing. It's very exciting for me. My chord shifting has gotten much faster, although I still struggle with getting to a C for some reason, but there's a lot of improvement in it already. Having 2 guitars kind of sucks because I love both of them and it's so hard to choose which I want to play on for the day

I agree. I have a Carvin now, but I rocked those M22 22 pole pickups back in 79!

@Matic these headphones have been really helpful. I couldn’t really tell the differences between the pickups well enough on just the amp, but plugging the headphones in really helped me differentiate between them. I need to find a better playing position though cuz the cord is always in the damned way

    Back to the trashcaster

Still trying to determine if this is an actual 65 body. With the pick guard and bridge off there are some interesting discoveries.

First off it seems like the trashcaster was repaired, and repainted.

    Some small runs

    7231ECA6-A05E-413E-9968-A4E5760C0CF2.jpg 24D5A002-B098-4892-BDE5-FF6B7E64DDE0.jpg

    Then there’s this

    CCACA888-D15B-4106-BFF1-D44E8C8E3FA6.jpg

    A painted neck pocket

    16882F35-3499-4448-A939-B1659EF071EE.jpg B1F749B6-5A30-459B-8A71-A32C88C0754F.jpg

Concerning is the routing of the bridge pickup cavity. Seems like it was at some point repaired and then rerouted it. No longer fits a stock fender pickup. This explains why the bridge pickup was rotated 180 degrees and mounted to the pick guard.

    BF0D65DA-1341-4A8C-8B55-41DA7373BCBB.jpg

However the dowels are visible on the front, and are properly spaced

    C892978B-8D12-4B84-A10D-D6B740FA76BE.jpg 5BF18BDA-AFF4-4261-A0B7-4CF115CDBF64.jpg CAE0D7C1-D042-49C2-885F-A2C8CA3CD252.jpg

And are also visible on the back

    D6531CDD-238E-4794-AA4F-78EF862DB768.jpg 9DA459F3-9694-41B3-868D-87FC1AD0C632.jpg

So these dowels certainly do fit in during that time frame.

The aforementioned Kramer Focus 6000 that was stolen, I had repainted by Wayne Charvel/Jim O'Conner. I really miss that guitar. It was my first 'real' guitar.
