I sold all kinds of amps and guitars I had to buy the amp I'm using now. And it just lives in this road case rig I built because I was supposed to be playing a lot and then I moved for work. But I don't regret it at all. Best amp I've ever used.image.jpg

    MORE AMPS!

    i've had:
    Ampeg V4 (still have)
    SUNN Concert Lead
    SUNN Beta Lead
    Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
    Mesa Boogie DC-10 (still have)
    Verellen Loucks
    Peavey 5150

all going to either a Eminence loaded V4 cab or a EV-12L loaded V4 cab. or both when i positively have to palm mute the audience to death.

    bass has been wayyyy easier:

SUNN Coliseum Bass into an stock Ampeg 810 and a SUNN 215 with Peavey Black Widows

hidden gem. the missing link between the Mark series and the Rectifier series. although i may try and seek out a Tremoverb, i keep hearing those are the best Rectifiers around.

Still sad the Stiletto, and in turn the Royal Atlantics, got discontinued. Never had the chance to try one personally, but I think it would have been right up my alley.

neither did, but honestly, i've never enjoyed the British-type tone. i've always liked dark, clear American amps. buuuuuut... i had an Egnater for a while that i absolutely loved. you could blend between 6L6 and EL34 tubes to find your own sweet spot.

Just got the new baby on the left. This rig is so versatile. Bright cleans to Randy Rhoads in two clicks of a foot pedal.

Did a guitar session for some guys today. Used my cheapo Squier Jazzmaster and my trusty Fender DRRI combo. I can nail most anything asked with this setup. Each time I use this guitar in a session, the sound engineer goes out and buys one. It's a ridiculously great value. I'm about to tear it down this summer and swap out components for reliability's sake though. Jazzmaster's are the Ducati of guitars; they need frequent and consistent servicing, but OHHHHHH do they deliver on fun factor.

    Pedals on board:
    Boss Tu-2 Tuner
1st Gen Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde in custom painted housing
    1st Gen Main.Ace.FX F*ckface fuzz pedal
    Boss Super Chorus
    MXR Carbon Copy Delay
1st Gen Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo

No major mods on the DRRI besides a swapped rectifier for a NOS something or other about 8 years ago. Sounds a little more open and woody now.

Plans for JM: Shielding under pickguard, Fender Mustang bridge, Fender Tremolo base plate, maybe swap pots.

I have one of these Studio Les Pauls. I got an '11 Goldtop '60s tribute with P90s. I had a Bigsby and a Vibramate on it for a while before swapping to a trapeze tailpiece. I swapped the Gibson plastics for bone white plastics, as the Gibson plastic looks pink on the goldtops. Yours looks GREAT! I've never bonded with my Gibson P90 pups. I've been thinking of dropping some TV Jones P90 size humbuckers into it. I don't have any Humbucher guitars since I sold my Korina Explorer last year.

Sitting here bummed out all weekend cause I still haven't found a band to play with since I moved. But I turned some knobs and tweaked some actions so I guess I was productive this weekend? Maybe? Haha

I haven't played a show in 3 or 4 years. I haven't toured since '10. Kids, man. When they get a little older I'll put something together. Too busy right now. I've done the craigslist thing and it's like a blind date. It's awkward never works out.

I see you're in the B'ham. I had supper with a friend last night who used to (and still does, maybe?) audio engineering over there. He's shifted from recording bands and live sound to doing photo shoots and commercials. You're in a good spot to find musical folks. Lots of good music and people over there. They get wild over in Auburn and up in Florence/Muscle Shoals. Good folks. Know how to host a good show and party.
