Any guitar players on TW?

Long time without a post. Merry Christmas and Happy New year all. Got myself something for Christmas. 2020 70's spec Explorer. Bought it at sweetwater. I used to have an 06 ebony explorer but this thing is an entirely different animal. Hard to put down and practically plays itself.

Yeah. It stays in tune better than my two Les Pauls. Of course Les Pauls and the infamous G string dropout.

Never played a guitar like that. Looks cool. I'm assumming you get used to not having a lot of room for your plucking hand?

2 months now and no @jungleman, wtf??

 

What are you guys using to keep your guitars from drying out? I've been cycling mine in hard cases with little hydration pouches. Was thinking of leaving one in my bedroom with the humidifier as night so I don't have to keep fussing with pulling my cases out of storage.

Nothing.
All my expensive stuff is in the closet in cases. My players are on stands so i can grab them when the urge hits.

 

I wish we could get a hold of his son somehow.

 

I keep one accoustic in a case and one hanging up (normally they are both out). I'm just freaked out about how dry is gets in my house. But I gotta have one to grap at any moment too. When I bought my Guild the guy at the shop warned me about it drying out.

 

Ive got his full name and addy for when i sent him the Baretta. A quick FB search only showed 2 people. Both look unlikely to be him. Sadly, I didnt get a # for him.

I keep all my guitars in cases in my music room / office.

According to my thermostat my house fluctuates between 40-50% humidity.. my 04 Martin came to me dry as all balls so every now and then I throw a humidifier in it for a few days if I feel like the sound hole starts looking a little bowed in. Most days she’s alright tho.

 

That was me I believe. Not in the cards right now. Got Christmas bills, and property tax instalment to pay. Also the time of year when Canadians rush to top up our RRSP contribution. Gotta be responsible. I’m shooting for a freedom 55 plan. Freedom 60 seems more realistic though.
