Just happened upon them accidentally yesterday....high dollar guitar.....they resemble the ESP Horizon in some ways.

Those older Japanese Takamines are very well regarded and sought after. My sister has one from around that era that's worth well more than she paid for it. Keep that thing nice!

Depends on the model. You'd have to look at sold listings on eBay and Reverb to get a real idea. My sister has a pretty standard rosewood/spruce dreadnought and its worth around $700, which is more than it cost new.

I can't even find one of those. You have a rare one!

Isn't the EF389 stamped inside the model number?

You’re right! I didn’t. Pictures online made me worry about how they would all match up. Then when I laid them on top.... I went ahead and knocked them in.

I got a little too happy with the “tone” top hat and will have to order yet another.

Looks great with all the gold bits. I thought these were just press in. Did you tap one a bit to hard?

I still have my gold original Floyd Rose and nut that I'm dying to mount on something. Gold goes good with about any color and really blings it out.
Just can't figure out what I want to put it on. I have yo see what my luthier says about a recessed route on my Kramer. Been watching tons of YouTube vids on it, just don't have the templates or the router.

The only bad thing about the color is if you use it to gig with, the acids in your sweat can really eat at the finish. The gold on my Ibanez rs1300 could really use a freshen up, but im gonna leave it be for now.

That's awesome. Looks like one of the Martin lawsuit model - has some very cool history behind it. Thanks for sharing!

I tapped it way too hard. The insides shattered everywhere...

I think StewMac has the templates you are looking for. I am a huge FR fan and I almost feel naked without it. This is why my LP usually sits in its case.

If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that you're an Ibanez fan!

The gold fade is something I'm all too familiar with. I have a "shredder" guitar - a Schecter - that I use every day. When I want to record a video, I pull out the LP or PRS. This saves me from fret wear and fade.

When wear and fade comes, it won't stop me from loving the guitars any less. They are meant to be played.

I do love my Ibby's, never played any RG's though.
Best decision I ever made was sending that pos Indonesian Jem back though. For that amount I ended up buying the 440, 530 and 1300.
I don't know if I would ever own another guitar that is new. I've been salivating over the suhrs and mayones models. A few of the the Ibby prestige necks. But that's stupid money to me.
