Here’s your general reminder to remember to play with finesse.

I sometimes get caught up with the tone from my Strat when I dig in that I forget to use my finesse to get different tones / feel from the same exact lick. It says so much more when you use finesse to emphasize certain notes in a phrase than just powering it out.

Or don’t, it’s all subjective. Maybe this is just my reminder

Couple days late. It seems that's not really a locking nut. The nut is already there and that's probably just a string stability piece. At least that's what it looks like to me. Just like the little trees for the strings on some Fenders.

 

Gonna be a noisy summer. Building a bunch of houses next door. Hoping they get the one next to us done first.

Go tankless if you can.. my house came with it thankfully.. but my gas bill thanks me and it really isn’t that different from a tank water heater.

 

Yeah, still working good, just at the end of its lifespan. Don't want it to go since it's located in the house, been there. I've looked at tankless, cost is prohibitive. But since I have to have it relocated it may be a wash. We'll see...

 

I'm from Orange County, Ca and I used to go to a no age limit club in Buena Park called The Woodstock.
I saw Metallica there a couple of times with the original lineup, James, Lars, Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney on bass.
I also saw Slayer there a couple of times, (they formed nearby in Garden Grove). One of the times that Metallica was playing there Slayer was also in the audience watching.
We (me and my guitar buddies) also bought Metallica t-shirts off of them out of the back of an old green station wagon.
This was probably a year and half or so before Kill em All or Show no Mercy were released.
