So, is anyone familiar with the guitarist Cord Pool?

I like his solos. He doesn’t over do it and just plays to what the song needs.

If I had to pick a favorite chord of all time it would probably be the open G.

Those Martin Acoustic Guitars are spendy. Always wanted one myself but, couldn’t justify the price

I always felt the same way.. but I have 2 now and boy am I glad I do. I’ve seen more long aged Martin’s kicking around then any other acoustic. Take care of them and they turn into family heirlooms.

Since I own two Martins from the late 40's, I can absolutely attest to their allure. They play and sound great but are not without issues. In 1947 (and maybe other adjacent years) many had necks that were about 1/16th inch to far away from the bridge causing them to play flat up the neck. You can tell by looking at the 14th fret and see if it's at all extended from the body. It should be exactly even with the body. That was my 000-18 and the solution was a neck re-set where the neck was not only re-set but also shortened by 1/16th of an inch. Now it plays within two cents at the 12th fret. Pretty good for an acoustic. But there are a lot of other great guitars out there as well. Every day I'm amazed at how well the six month old Gibson is sounding and it was quite reasonably priced at under $3K. The best piece of advice is to never upgrade to a new instrument unless YOU can tell the difference from your old one - either in how it plays or in how it sounds or both.

But at this point in my life, I'm not getting any younger and I'm more inclined to say fuck it and just buy something because I want to experience it. As my old friend from Texas, Robert Earl Keen says, "You can never have too many shotguns - or guitars..." I at least agree with the latter.

Those are all good. Eagle Rare is the gold standard. Good price, great taste.
