I picked a slide up yesterday, seeing that I have been playing in open G so much lately.

 

Day 8 of non smoking. First full day of no ciggies. Had gotten down to half my previous intake. This chantix is working pretty well for me, no noticeable side effects except for occasional upset tummy. Hardest part for me is the "habit" of smoking. Medication seems to be taking care of the nicotine fix.

 

I've photographed a whole bunch of guitars over the last 40 years. Here's a pretty rare one that I shot on a freezing morning in Big Sky, Mt. back in '90 or '91. A 1951 Fender NoCaster with a Gene Parson's installed B string bender plus Scruggs banjo tuners on the A and high E.

 

And here's another Tele, well a Tele copy that I got back in the mid 90's. This was a prototype that the Deering Banjo Co made for a NAMM Show back then. It's a great guitar but the headstock shape was weird and they put their logo on the headstock in freaking Comic Sans type, which just wouldn't do, so I sanded the logo off and re-shaped the headstock while I was putting Gotoh Mini 510 Locking tuners on. And yeah, that's half of an Ampeg RocketReverb II in there as well.

Back from the ER because of kidney stone pain. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

Found a pick in my pocket waiting in the ER. The entire time I was there all I thought about is that I want to be playing a guitar. That pick really help me deal with the pain.

Cannot wait until that get this little bastard out of me.
