Nice! I like the tone coming out of it.

It is very low gain but can be stacked. It reminds me of the Vox Valvetone V-810 I had ages ago (and looking at current prices, I never should've sold).

How in the heck are 2 identical guitars off by more than a lb?
Look at #1 compared the the weight of #4.

Rebuilding the ol' pedalboard. The top is the main signal for more standard tones. The bottom is the weirdo garage space rockabilly signal. I've typically been the lone guitarist in bands and I like to run to two amps.

Not pictured: A carbon copy delay, MXR Fuzz, and a couple of Tube screamer clones.

Traded in some old unused stuff for my dream amp at the local Guitar Center. I've never seen one in person, but have been looking for one for 20+ years. Silvertone 1482. Early '60s, RCA tubed, 12", 15 watts. It's as creamy, squishy, and dreamy as I'd hoped. Way too dark for my Les Paul, but is a perfect fit for my telecaster. Between this amp and my Lovepedal Les Lius, I have the Stones tones licked.

One of my great guitar regrets was selling my '97 Korina Explorer. I paid $380 for it with the original case and sold it for $750.

I want to build a single-button footswitch to control the tremolo on this old Silvertone amp. I've repaired pedal inputs and even built a Champ clone several years ago but I've never done a pedal from scratch. Does anyone here have circuit experience?

I could do this easily by just doing an on/off switch, but I want to add an LED light. I don't know what kind of switch I need to buy, a SPDT (single pole double throw) or DPDT (double pole double throw). Does anyone here know which one I need? This is a pretty basic job so I want to teach my kiddo how to solder.

Here is a walkthrough for one without an LED and it looks like a DPDT:

i think you'll want a DPDT and a resistor to the LED. i haven't built one since i had my Mesa DC-10 but a friend made one for my ENGL recently. i'll double-check with him, but i think that's how it's done.

Thanks! I found a source that has pre-built LEDs with resistors already mounted so I’ll grab one of those.

as a teen, I pined for a honey burst Epiphone Les Paul. It was an attainable goal. I had two Epi LPs and both were terrific guitars. I sold the second one to find the purchase of a Gibson LP Goldtop. In ten years of owning it, I have not bonded with the Gibson like I did the Epi. They certainly breathe differently and the necks are nothing alike. I’ve often considered selling the Gibby.
I experienced similar with my Gibson SG and Epiphone Korina SG. While the Gibson pickups produced a “tighter” and more even sound, the variances in the Epi model appealed to my ears more. Again- the necks were nothing alike between the two.

Amazing, eh? I sold my two fancy Gibson acoustics because I never played them, preferred the tone and feel of my Washburn Jumbo. Nothing wrong with the Gibson just ended up being expensive pieces of art.

Been having a love affair with my newest acoustic lately: 2021 Taylor GT Urban Ash.

It is a smaller scale 24-1/8", has a sitka spruce top with urban ash back and sides. The sound this thing puts out, as well as the play ability with the smaller scale, blows some of my more expensive acoustics out of the water. If you're looking for a couch player guitar, I'd highly recommend taking a look at it.

Bingo, it's just good craftsmanship. It looks great hanging on the wall. The gold glows under the right angle of light.
