All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Got my first Tele today! In silver burst,mm which spoke to me. I couldn’t say no. Normally I would choose a classic sunburst, blonde or white…
This reflect all kinds of colors..

but just like my shoreline good Jazzmaster, it’s spike to me when I held it!

More pics of it at home. Different lighting…loving the way light plays off this thing. Would never have bought a silver guitar…

Dang that's sweet! Crazy, it looks blue haze in the pics. Was there a blue guitar in front of it?

There was a blue lights all over the place in the ceiling. It takes on the hue of the light that is projected.

They're just held on by string tension on those aren't they? I was looking at some old Gretsch's like that. I guess they change the strings one at a time so they don't have to intonate every time.

Yeah, I just put a rubber band over them when I change strings and pay attention to the screw head orientation.

I'm just catching up a bit on this thread. I love seeing lots of different styles and guitars being played here! I'm a bit of a tele guy, I have two, so if I may offer just a few words of advice for your search that could help. Note that I'm a rock and roll/rockabilly kind of player (imagine how overwhelmed I am shopping for a Gretsch hollowbody...)

The bridge pickup/bridge plate combination is the heart and soul of the tele. I would focus on finding one with the standard setup for that aspect, and from there of course one with a neck profile that suits you. Variations in the neck pickups, addition of a middle pickup, wiring schemes etc., that's all less important if you find one with a good bridge pickup. I play mine on the bridge pickup the vast majority of the time, I can't really explain in words how versatile it is, but I'm sure you know that already since that's why teles are so popular!

    Good luck!

This is the kinda tele shit I get into, pocket rhythm playing and an absolute monster of a solo (I can't play a fraction as well as Danny Gatton, but then again no one can.)

Dude, there's so many. I gave up trying to find one and decided when I do I will know. It will be a some random shop that I was just running into to get strings or something.

"What? The account got over-drafted? The strings were only $5... Oh I guess the guitar they came on was $3000..."

I know a 6120 is probably out of my price range, at least for a new one, so the classic orange might not be in my future. I'm in the same boat as you though, the stars will align and the one will manifest itself to me when I least expect it.

I'm just down the road from Wildwood, they have a "Gretsch sherpa" who would guide my journey, but I have too many home improvement projects to budget for so I'm trying to stay away!

Ha! I decide on one then I see another and can't make up my mind. Damn internet. Back in the day you wouldn't even know about half on them we are so spoiled now. I do know I like the older ones.

I feel you on the home improvement stuff. Happy wife. Happy life right? But, you gotta have some place to keep all these guitars and amps.

I am also a fan of rockabilly BTW. Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry always inspire me to learn more playing styles.
