My 1st amps were a pair of these Tiesco del rey "Checkmate 88's". I daisy chained them together.
Around the same though, I had a Fender head, bandmaster? maybe and some home made 12" stereo speakers that I slit the cones with razer blades to get that extra fuzz tone. lol

Was a Peavey from the early 90s. Think a Rage.

Had to do what you had to do to get it to work with what you had. That's awesome. I wish I still had my old amp and first guitar. Literally have no idea what I did with them. I blame drugs and alcohol.

    Ha!

not sure if want my first, FIRST ones back. My mom bought my starter kit on QVC / HSN. She meant well, but damn, mom.
Also a little embarrassed admitting to that

she made up for it a year or two later with my epiphone SG. Still have that, it’s not great but it’s a lifelong keeper

Yep, my local pawn shop took my first Jazzmaster. Mid 90s MIJ tobacco sunburst.

Right. Is what it is. Would be cool to have that back. Tobacco burst is probably my favorite.

On a side note, I found a Peavey Rage this morning. Someone must have just posted it. I had the one with a green stripe on it. Looked everywhere for one for a while now and I could only find the other models either newer or older or insanely high priced and all of a sudden bamn. There one was and not at a crazy jacked up on the my God it's so vintage and rare price.

Ahh yes, Teal. I'm terrible with colors LOL!

The 158 version though which came right after the 108. I don't think there is much difference between the 108 and 158. Not quite sure what the difference is between the two. The look identical.

I found it for $45. If I could even find a teal 158 they were always over $100 plus like $25 to shipped and my offers where always refused. Just seeing these images reminds me of playing in my living room and having my mom yell at me haha!

Well, there were 16 people watching it and 4 offers, so I snagged it up anyway.
I don't know the difference between the 108 and the 158 either unless it's wattage. But the pictures look absolutely mint.
I used to play my buddy's teal stripe all the time. Cant remember which one it was.

Playing hooky from work today. Found a couple scratchy pots and one 3 way switch that needs attention on my last 2 roadstars I posted. So I guess i'll go find some contact cleaner. What are we using to clean scratchy posts and electronics with?

You should go get that seeing there seems a TW Peavey Rage club about the start. I say we create a secret handshake and get decoder rings. We can call it the PR department.

I have had way to much coffee this morning.
