Thought about getting one of those myself so I could practice while sitting on the couch with my girl. Buddy of mine got a Mustang Micro for Christmas, said it's ok, decent for practice after his wife goes to bed.

Actually thought once about getting a couple of the VOX & putting one of my guitars in my cubicle's coat closet so I can head to a conference room & jam over lunch. Still haven't ruled that out.

I think they are worth it. I use mine way more than I thought I would. Just thought is was neat, now I am using it every morning. My little Peavey Rage also has a headphone output have not tried that. The Vox is way easier. Just uses one battery. Nothing plug into the wall. I think I may buy one of the other ones if I can find a deal on one.

I always wonder what would work in a office situation. Pretty much what you are doing. Play it on breaks. I work from home now though, so I have never tried it. One of those little travel guitars might be handy. Pretty bare bones, but you're just trying to get a little practice in.

What is your practice routine? I tried to give myself some structure but wind up noodling much of the time.

Right now, every morning fretting hand exercises, scales / soloing, something from Metallica like the interlude to Master of Puppets but only picking it no hydrid picking, and now sweep picking. Then something technical and works well with hybrid picking like Fade to Black by Metallica or Drive by REM. I noodle too once I get tired of that, but I try to something like that every morning. Hybrid picking was kinda a game changer for me. I am no pro, just having fun and that is how my mind works. A.D.D. all over the place.

Long weekend for me. Gonna jam a bit, maybe start a small music project. Need to knock the dust off these drums as well.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I think we should start up a collaboration project on TW. We can write a some that brought us together for our love of tacos and music.
Let the bs begin! I can come up with some pretty good lyrics…been known to be a side shoot of Tenacious D! Lol

Lol. That would be great. I mentioned that awhile ago. I wish everyone had the ability to record, we could just pass a cf card around and everyone could add to the project.

How would we mix and master it, digital studio prog?

yep. theoretically, someone could record a part (to a click) an upload the WAV. the next person downloads, loads into their DAW or hardware (free ones are GarageBand for Mac and i think Studio One or Reaper for PC), records their part and uploads. the goal would be each person ultimately uploads their solo part and whoever feels comfortable mixing and mastering can then load everything into a master project and mix down/ master a final project.

i hope that made sense. i did something like this a couple yrs ago on Reddit.

Ah yes. I think we talked about this a long time ago. Interesting. I have studio one but I don't have an interface but Scarlet and many others are pretty cheap.

don't you have a hardware recorder? like a Tascam or something... i vaguely remember that. i'm pretty sure you could use either as an interface or use it to record and pull the file for upload.

Yea. Tascam 32 track. I can pipe it directly to audacity or studio one and save as a .wav.
My Eleven Rack might even work direct in the puter.

Fair enough. Keep it simple. What bpm you think? Also maybe 2 sections for you solo guys.

i'm thinking between 90 and 120... fairly standard. i'm thinking i'll record a few simple chord progressions and include the chords/ tabs in a text file.

Yep, you know a little TenaciousD! In which a light jam…can easily convert into a rocking
Well if you want me to sing it better have some sort of Mr Bungle vibe to it lol
