All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

This is crazy. $220. Man, prices are nuts right now.

I'm gonna build this for about $15 in parts total. I found the schematic and the opamp for it.

Seriously though, this is not worth $220 bucks.

Anyone play one of those 70s Yamaha SG series? Like say the SG-40 or SG2000? Really liking those lately. As if I need another guitar haha!

    I had to google one.

I want to say I have back in early 2000’s. I was a teenager and my friends dad would let us play on some of his ‘shared items’. He locked up most of his prized items.

But honestly at that age, playing anything new was just learning experience not knowledgeable of things to look or feel and listen for… and at the time, I just wanted distortion. I want to say it felt good with playability but can’t truly remember.

YAMAHA always seems to be right in line with the quality to price point. that applies to most everything they produce. they are quite a prolific company, in tons of fields, some you may not even think of. I have one of their acoustics (Fg435 I think) and it has always played well and sounded good. I dont think I have ever heard a negative point about Yamaha really ever. I think they are one of the great large companies of the world. Always looking forward, not compromising quality for marketshare. I dont think you can really go wrong with yamaha in any product. Dont know that there is much of a collectability factor, but quality and playability will likely always be there.

ProCo Rat pedals..... some are going for 6-700$ it is nuts.

They make bad ass motorbikes too.

Wait, Proco's are now getting expensive?!?! I gotta check Reverb. Not surprised really. Seems hipsters want anything that they think can make them look cool.

I took one of the newer Rats and modded it. Replaced the opamp with the older sought after one. I honestly didn't really notice much of a difference.

That price is on a certain iteration of the numerous editions they had. Honestly they all sounded different. the next one to come off the line was slightly different than the previous one on the same day of production.

Since we are on the subject. I hope this doesnt offend the purists, haha. I bought the Mosky Black RAT and the Silver Archer. ( Rat and KLON clones respectively ) though I don't have the originals to A/B, I really find that these (2) pedals @ 70$ total for both are much more than adequate for home use.

When the prices reach unreasonable levels, the clone shame should be equally diminished, lol.

My take on the A/B thing has always been “does it sound great?”. I’ve seen some klon comparisons where the clone doesn’t quite sound the same… and therefore the conclusion is drawn that the clone is inferior. The thing is though, while they might not sound exactly alike; they both sound amazing; and if you weren’t A/Bing back and forth right next to each other, you probably couldn’t tell a discernible difference (at least not enough to determine a clear winner of the two).

I was late on the buy, it got scooped up quick. I had a plan to go check it out, but probably best I didn’t…bleeding money like crazy right now. Moved to my mtn house full time and setting up the house in ATL as an AirB&B. I have been non stop for months now.

has anyone had any direct experience with the PRS Silver Sky SE?
It is looking very attractive to fill the SSS w/ Trem void in my stable. I know PRS is known for holding tune very well, but of all of the stellar reviews I have seen on this, I haven't seen one reviewer actually use the Trem bar. If it holds tune reliably as the other models, I may be so inclined as to get one. 2- point connection on the SE bridge as opposed to the 6point on the US model. They are calling it a "modernized" update to the Bridge.

UPDATE: MAY THE BUYERS REMORSE BEGIN...

Hopefully that works out. They seem to have good review. MY LGS has some, but I have never picked one up. Going to the next time I'm there.

The orangewood arrived and this time I think they nailed it. I am opting not to use the provided pick guard but instead have a custom rosewood Pickguard w abalone on the way.
