I laughed hard at the f chord workaround on the other one - I like the 4x12 coffee shop one too

Thought I posted my Vh1 up I picked up from Sweetwater last week. Probably going to sell it to my guitar tech cheap for giving me the killer deal on the dual rectifier.
Hands down, the best amp I've ever owned.

Worked 54 hours of OT in 2 weeks and treated myself to a new toy! 2015 G&L USA custom build ASAT Bluesboy 90 in Butterscotch Blonde, tinted maple fingerboard. It already has a Seymour Duncan Little '59 with coil split swapped into the bridge position (nice). The original pickup is included in case I want to go back to the single coil. This fills the Tele hole and the P-90 hole in my collection, and will be a nice complement to my '99 G&L Legacy. More pics when it arrives.

played a backyard show with one of our side projects, Casual Business. loads of fun! I forget how much I enjoyed house parties.

    IMG_20180721_200438.jpg

we did a stereo set up for some reason. I was using my Science and Fender 2x12 and a Mesa Rocket 44 with my Ibanez TC825, the other guitarist used a custom Jennings guitar, a 2-Ch Dual Rec and a pair of homemade cabs that are rumored to have been owned by Tom Petty. bass was a Music Man Stingray through an Ampeg Portaflex and matching 4x10.

although the highlight was the mini drum kit we put together for this tiny homemade stage.

Well, my "mint condition" G&L ASAT arrived today with buckle rash all over the back. Too deep to wet sand out too. Its going back and I'll pay off my new phone and car insurance for the year with the refund (more responsible anyway).

Amazing! Not like its a Wally World $99 First Act POS either. This was custom ordered from G&L and must have cost the dude close to $2000 new!

Pulled out the mini humbucker and the stupid 3 saddle bridge today and put the original parts back in. Sounds much better, like a proper Tele now. The pickup and bridge I took out should net me $150 to cover the new locking tuners and custom pickguard I'm buying for it.

Cool story, I've always wanted the '52 reissue, and this is probably better than the Fender version. Yet I go to play a tele and I always decide not to buy because of that weird stainless steel boxed in bridge pickup thing. I would need to take off and cut off that ridge as with my mostly heavy riffing playing style that thing is in the way, wtf is that for? besides the cover that no one keeps on. 3 saddle bridge is no bueno as well, my strat lost the original stamped saddles day 2 also, good way to cut myself with those height adjusting screws. Guess I'm not really a Fender guy, like the sound, not the factory bridges.

my buddy works in a guitar shop and was showing me the new American Professional Teles. they address the issue with the ashtray bridge you're talking about. also they have a more modern individual saddle system.

I've had bad luck with US made Fenders to the point where G&L is my go-to brand for Fender style guitars. They are absolutely superior in my opinion in terms of build quality (especially fretwork). The "ashtray bridge" you're talking about is the old style Tele bridge. Most of them have a flat one now, and there are lots of flat ones you can buy aftermarket. The stock bridge on this guitar has 6 saddles, but the owner swapped it for a compensated 3 saddle one from some little boutique maker. I sold it for $85 in less than a day on Reverb, so I guess they're sought after. Thankfully he included the original bridge and pickup. He installed a humbucker with coil split in the bridge that ruined the classic Tele sound even when it was split. I should get some good cash for that, too.

Here are the saddles I put on my strat, my playing doesn't use a wammy bar either. Can't remember what brand they are, but no exposed height adjustment set screws.
