Picked up my 3rd Gibson Kramer Baretta special.
2 creams and a black one. This one's gonna get a Gold OFR that I had for another project that never came together.

I had a reissue Beretta that was pretty sweet, years ago. How do those feel?

 

It just came in from FedEx as I was jumping in an uber today to pick up my truck.
Just got home and it feels great. I mean it's not a genuine Kramer but it's tight, body style is reminiscent of the glory days, trem sucks but my other 2 Gibson Kramers shreeeeed. I thought this one was cream but it's white.
I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

 

Both my cream and black Gibson Kramers are beasts stock. And I think they sold these things for $175 brand new.

A few gitters at my house. Here's my latest and most favorite these days. 1947 Martin 000-18. Picked this up from Norm's Rare Guitars, I guess in a partial trade for two framed photos of George Harrison (Nov '87 Guitar Player Mag cover) where Norm supplied the guitars for the photo shoot. Even after the great price it took a bit of work to get it in world class shape, including new saddle and nut, new frets, slight planing of the fretboard, being Plek'd and vintage replica Waverly's. Oh, and a Calton case. One sweet sweet vintage Martin. Also posting a shot of a one-off Tele copy made by, of all places, the Deering Banjo Co. Got it in trade for photography 25 years ago but recently sanded off their hideous Comic Sans logo and left it as a very pretty "no" caster. While I was at it with the Tele, I replaced the really crappy Sperzel tuners with these fabulously beautiful Gotoh Mini 510 lockers. Anyone interesting in the technical aspects of the photos, let me know. There's a lot of shift-stitching and focus stacking going on here.

 

That Martin must sound like a perfect warm cup of coffee, would love to hear a sound sample of it if any are available.

And newish 2014 (left) Gibson/Kramer, Baretta reissue came in couple weeks ago. One of them is gonna get butchered.

Picked up a Charvel SK3 Skatecaster on sunday. Going to take the SH-4 JB out of my Jackson JSX-94 and put it in the SK3 and put the original Jackson pup back in the JSX and sell it.

The SK3 pup is just muddy and not much definition to it. Action is sweet but the sound just isn't there.

 

Nice! I still hope to grab an '86 or '87 Charvel Model 1 in red someday. That was my first electric guitar.

 

I've been trying to School myself on the model 1a-4b. I can't make sense of most of it but some are more desirable than others.
I like the early San Dimas 1-4.
I'm guessing by 87, they were already into the super pointy headstocks. I'm partial to the reverse style.

 

Buy eeeettt!!! model 1a, "87" in Ferrari red.

 

Just threw a lowball offer out on another 440. "1984".
I have the royal violet 440 for "1984 and I need the BK. Offered $350.
I don't really need it, but "want" it for my collection. Be nice if he bites...well see.

The V5 is splittable via the tone knob by push/push.
