Any guitar players on TW?

No idea who signed the pickguard. It's an interesting guitar. It's definitely a Les Paul Special by the location of the knobs and toggle switch. If it plays nice it's a good guitar for $100. Just get the holes filled, ditch the pickguard (it's an eyesore really) and play it.

 

rather pissed this eve. Sold my EVH VH1 to a friend and let him play it for a day.
Said he didnt want it because..." the pickup was to hot". and all the standard head pole pieces were all lined up in a strait line.

Just bought a guitar last month. I played half-assed power chords, and such, many years ago. Sold all my stuff when I thought I’d grown up, lol.
I decided to pick it back up and learn proper chords, and understanding of notes, scales, etc. I’ve been doing Justin Sandercoe’s online course, and loving it. Here’s my baby, love the versatility of tone. It’s an Epiphone Les Paul standard pro plus top. The coil tapping on the probucker pickups is amazing. Also bought a peavy vypyr vip1 modeling amp. Saw the blue, and fell in love!
It feels so good to make music again. I am really enjoying Justin’s lessons.

Finally pick up the Jackson and charvel tomorrow. I have a feeling I'm going to be sorely dissapointed with the way the Jackson is set up....for the 3rd time.

 

Not a huge purchase but I did find a period correct roadstar II case. It replaces the cool case that my 430wh came in.

 

I bought this set of locking tuners a while back and never even opened the case.
Is anyone interested at $50 shipped?

The body has been painted a couple times and I sold it twice, but it keeps coming back to me. So she deserves the new case.
Bought in 1985. sold twice, bought back twice.

 

Vintage Roadstar case just came in. Great condition and fits the 430WT perfectly.

Also got lucky and bid on a sweet 84 RS530BK with red binding. Will match my trans red 84, 530 nicely.

1 more for the Roadstar collection but I still need a 520 to complete my collection of "84" deluxe series.

 

Just pulled the trigger, and ordered my first tube amp from guitar center. They were runnng a sale this weekend, and I was running out of time to return my Peavey vypyr vip1 modeling amp, before the 45 days were up. I just couldn’t bond with it, try as I might. Too much gimmicky shit going on, not enough tone. It tries to do too many things, but none of them really well. Way too sterile, and an 8” speaker has its limitations.

All I need is a good clean channel, and an overdrive channel. I can pick up pedals as the need arises. Decided to investigate low wattage home size tube amps. I watched some YouTube comparison videos, and read great reviews on the VHT special 6 Ultra. Hand wired, easily mod able, variable wattage selector, 12” driver...
I couldn’t find one in a shop within 100 miles of home to “test drive”. Hoping it lives up to the hype. If not, guitar center’s return policy is hassle free. I’m pretty stoked about stepping up to a tube rig!

Did you get the head and cab?
I've got 3 brand new pedals if you're looking.
None of which go well with my Mesa as it already has killer tones and 3 channels.

 

I got the combo, but it has two external speaker jacks. It has a selector switch for 4, 8, or 16 ohm external speakers, so if I ever need another cab...
I’ll keep those pedals in mind, for future reference. I kind of need to chill the purchasing for a bit. I just bought my epi LP 6 weeks ago. Don’t want to piss off the wife, and be sleeping in the Taco, it’s a short bed

That Maxon is pretty good low OD. I used one for a bit. I've had a couple of D+. THey're great for all kinds of stuff beyond guitar. I ran a snare through on in a studio forever ago and got one of my favorite drum tracks out of it. Those 6-band EQs are great, too.

But my buddy at my guitar shop talked me into this one. While I find it helps the clean tone, I don't have a use for it dirty. I can dial in what I like with the 3 band on the mesa.

Literally bought all 3, put batteries in them, tried em for 10 minutes and pit them away.

 

Day 3 with my new VHT Special 6 Ultra. The speaker seems to be breaking in a little more. It was sort of...quacky, or honky at first, but is sounding better by the hour. Really sweet clean channel. Loving the tube amp dynamics. So different from solid state. Very touch sensitive, love how it responds to changes in strumming, and picking. Much more...alive.
It will force me to be precise, and (hopefully) make me a better player, due to the awesome articulation in the clean channel.

Possibly a Hondo or any number of import from the 70s-90s. Also could be a kit bash. Zero chance it’s a Gibson or even Epiphone. They never made dolt-on explorers.
